Replacing the Lamp Cartridge
Tool needed: Phillips screwdriver
1. Turn the television off and unplug the AC cord.
2. Remove the front speaker grill by gently pulling
on each side. The grill will snap out.
3. Using a phillips screwdriver, remove the three
screws (one on the left and two on the right side)
that hold the recessed plastic cover in place.
4. Remove the plastic cover and set aside
with the screws.
5. After removing the cover, you will be able to
see the lamp cartridge. With the screwdriver,
loosen the three screws of the cartridge.
The three screws will not completely remove .
6. Gently grasp the metal handle and pull
straight out (towards you).
7. Insert the new lamp cartridge securely
into the TV. Do not touch the glass surface
of the cartridge.
8. With the screwdriver, tighten the screws
on the lamp cartridge.
9. Replace the plastic cover and screws.
10. Snap the speaker grill back into place
by pushing it into place on each side
with the palm of your hand.

kind regards

Turn your TV off. Let it sit there for about 5 minutes to let the cooling fan help cool the lamp. Unplug your TV from the power let it sit about another 30 minutes. Even with the TV turned off power is still going to the lamp and the lamp receptacle can still be hot enough to burn you. Even if you think that the lamp is cool I recommend that you do not touch the receptacle.
Usually the lamp has a cover that you will need to unscrew. Most manufactures use a Philips head screw for holding the cover shut. Unscrew the lamp cover.
Unpackage the replacement lamp. Be careful not to tough the glass, as oil from your fingers can damage the lamp's surface.
Pull the lamp out. Most lamps have a plastic tab or hoop on the handle that you can use to pull it out. Follow the owners manual for specific instructions on how to pull the lamp out. Make sure you do not touch the surrounding lamp housing if you just turned off the TV. It can burn you if it is hot.
After the lamp has cooled, place it into the empty box of the replacement lamp. Never put the used lamp into a plastic bag.
Using the guiding post also called "gutters" by some manufactures slide the lamp replacement lamp in pushing it until you hear a firm click.
Screw the lamp cover back in.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE BALLAST IN THE MITUSUBISHI WD 52532 MODEL

hint: the two pins the lamp plugs onto go directly to the ballast which is really a power supply for the lamp.

not clear from all you have said if ballast is the problem===these sets had a lot of issues; anything, even too much dust on the fans inside will shut it down...........

Do I need to order the housing with the lamp after burn-out?

you can order just the bulb then install that in your housing. Being careful not to touch the new bulb with your bare hands as the oils from your finger tips will cause the lamp to fail prematurely.

Mitsubishi WT-42311 DLP Bulb Replacement

Your access should be a a panel near the back or side. You will see that it is somewhat easily removed and should have maybe one or two screws. You will see the casing to the lamp. Go ahead and remove it. Now unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new one. There is not a lot of screws holding it together. It's a fairly easy process once you find the lamp. You should see the lamp once the panel is removed.
