You should be able to access the Admin account by doing this >> hold Ctrl, Alt and press Del twice, this will bring up a logon screen, type into the user box "administator" (hopefully there will be no password) if it lets you in go to the user accounts and delete or change the the paassword from your account.

post back with the results please

Or if your user name is not administrator, then you can start your pc in safe mode then you will see another user named administrator, if also need a password, then you have to format, else when logged on, go to users accounts then clear your password.

Ok, I have had a look for you and Microsoft have listed a couple of ways to do this.

Please follow this link, and I would suggest following Method 2.

Hope this works

Please rate and let me know.

Thank you

I'm sure there is probably illegal ways around this which I do not recommend, but if you did not back up your password then the only other solution is to re-install windows.

Microsoft has two methods for you to try, but these will only work is you have the password reset disk or the administrators password. Check out the link below

1) Go to Control Panel on the start menu.
2) Double click on User Accounts.
3) Then under the Pick a Task heading select Change the way users log on or off.
4) Tick the box next to Use the Welcome screen.
5) Then click apply. Password or not when your computer starts up it will take you to the welcome screen where the user can select which account they want to log into.

I FORGOT MY PASSWORD ALREADY? WHAT CAN I DO?

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator to log in once you have your computer running again you have to take control (administrator)control panel user accounts on the users tab, click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there or if your computer has a system restore you can restore it to an earlier date which will have your personal settings

also you might try

when you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

also

control panel user accounts

on the users tab, click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there

hope this helps

My hp laptop is lock it keep asking me my password

if it asks for a pasword after it boots up ...and before entering in the welcome screen of windows..it means that it has a user password made by you ..or someone else...and you will have to ask the one that made it ...or you need to reinstall the operation system and the password will be gone..
If it is made by mistake ..and it do not have a password try to hit enter and will log in ...In this case the welcome screen was replaced with the log in screen and this is the reason that makes this be displayed..
if it asks for a password and it is new..and the password is displayed when you want to install it ..you have to contact the seller or the manufacturer for the initial code..
also ..some laptops have a power on password and if you forgot it ..you will have to remove the bios battery so to make it "forgot it "

How do i unlock my laptot gatewaynv52 i forgot my password?

Ok here is what you should try and do to fix your problem. first reboot your systems and on boot up press the F8 key when the bios screen pops up this will usually bring you to a menu that askes how you would like to boot windows, if it dose not just re boot again and hit the Esc key, Delete key or the F12 key one of this will work(its different from computer to computer sorry). Now there will be a few different options on how to boot the system you want to chose to start in safe mode. Now this will take you to the normal boot screen but the computer will be in safe mode and there should be an extra user name in the list called administrator log in with that user name it will have no password. once logged in you will be able to go to start -> control panel -> users and make any changes necessary to your user account including changing your password.

I hope this helped.

Thank you,
Norse

Forgot password

There's a couple things you can do first try this:

1. This one works for some windows computers

Restart your computer and enter safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly while the computer is starting. Once prompted hit safe mode on your screen. Once inside go to Control Panel > User Accounts > and change the password on your account or remove it.

2. This one is if all else fails

If #1 doesn't work you can use this company - www.loginrecovery.com
First download their software off the website and burn it onto a CD using Nero or another CD burning program. They have detailed instructions on the website as well as some free CD burning programs for download. Next Restart the PC and boot to the CD Drive. Next transcribe all the letters and numbers that appear on the screen to a piece of paper. Lastly enter the numbers and letters into the box on their website where you are prompted and they will tell you if the password is hackable. You can choose between free service which is 72 hours or expedited service which is $30 and 10 minutes. I've used them in the past and they work wonders for me!

There are several types of password lock ups.
If you forgot the password on the log on screen where it asks for the username and password, you need to do recovery on the computer with the recovery disc that comes with it.

If the lock up is upon powering on the computer where you can see a blue screen and asks for a password, it is a BIOS power on password and there is no way to bypass this. You need to send it to an authorized service provider to reset it.

If it is an HDD password upon boot up, sad to say, the HDD needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

Am trap .

Is it asking for the user name and password at windows or at the bios?

If its windows then just boot the computer go into windows in safe mode, keep pressing the f8 ke during boot and you will have the option to go in in safe mode, when you get to the logon screen click on the administrator account, go into control panel, user accounts and just delete the password for the account name. Re-boot and you are in.

If that doesnt solve it let me know
