Re: where is the location of the reset button
First, you do not need to reset the phone to install the sim card. You open the back, remove the battery, and the sim card installs underneath. There is a small lever you shift before it will insert properly and it should go in easily without resistance if this is switched correctly.
Secondly, if you need to do a hard reset for some reason you can do it by going to options / security options / general settings / menu / wipe handheld / "blackberry"...but this will take it back to being a clean out of the box black berry.

definitelt no. whatever makes it come without a space for a sim card means that it cannot be used with another network but have you ensured that there is no space for the sim card? because its rather strange to me

You can't put songs that you have bought from apple. You can put songs that you have riped from CD's or downloaded. You need a micro SD card. On the phone go into options: Advance Options, Media Card. Turn mass storage mode on. Now plug your BB into the computer and a little window will open up. open the Blackberry folder then music. Drop and drag your music files into that folder. if your going to use the Desktop software go to google and type: Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.5. This version comes with a media manager.

This is typically caused by a filter being applied in the address book. Open you address book, press the BB menu button, and select filter. Once you are in the filter options, make sure that all check boxes are unchecked, then exit back out.
This may not be the cause of everyone's issue, but it may be a solution to some of the problems.
Another thing to check is if the contact are actually in the "Sim Phone Book" opposed to the regular address book. Open your address book, press the BB menu key, and select "Sim Phone Book". After doing this, you may see all of your contact in there and you should be able to copy the contacts to the BB.
