Can I use my Lexmark 3200 color jetprinter properly with my pc which is XP Home edition as it has been perfect for two years but I am now trying to print Christmas cards and I am having huge problems. One will print brilliant and 7/8really bad

  • prhurley Dec 12, 2008

I am very pleased to say that changing the paper back to normal does print ok. but I am still very disappointed that I cannot make normal cards as I at no stage wanted to do any more than just make a couple of personal cards and had purchased the facilities online to do so and the card paper was certainly not very heavy. I however thank you very sincerely for your help but it was obviously not meant to be.Cheers and Happy Christmas & New Year.

Try changing the print quality, when you print, select file, print, then printing prefrences, look at the printing preferences and change the quality setting or possibly speed, i honestly can't remember what it says right now, but change it to quality or high this will take more time to print but the results should be better, if wouldbe great if you could scan pictures of the print outs for us so we would see more of the problem, thanks

Depends on the type of paper you are trying to print on. If it is a heavy card stock it tends to **** the ink out faster than regular paper. If not, clean your print heads or change the print cartridge.

I want to hook the printer to my computer

What brand printer? Is it an HP laserjet/inkjet?

If the printer is relatively new, there should be a USB Type B port on the printer. You'll need a USB cable that can connect the printer to the PC.

Once you have the USB cable plugged in, make sure the printer is turned on. If running Windows 2000/XP/Vista the hardware manager should automatically try to install the printer for you.

You can check that the printer installed by going to Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. You should see the printer listed.

3200 not printing

absolutely. that's a good idea, but unusual for what you're experiencing. The test page is generated locally, through memory on printer. The applications depend on the driver set, interpreting the print information.

Need lexmark 3200 series driver disk 1

Windows draw 6 is a very old program that has changed hand many time the last owners were Coral and they have not moved with it.
You could try the following if you do not have the software disk for the printer[Why is that?]
Go start/printers and faxes/ click on it ans click on 'Add printer'
The system will look for plug and plany and the ask- insert CD or select from list.
Choose select from list then find the make [Lexmark] then Model 3200
click on it and windows will load driver from its own resources.

Anoth problem is if you are System is XP or Vista and the programs is most likey a DOS based Win 95/8 then it wont run.
Try to get round this by going to
Start/Programs/Accessories/SystemTools/Compatability Wizard and try restting the machine to 98.
