Question about Toshiba 57H81 57" Rear Projection Television

57H81 Red Bleeds, Dull Color, Was Pink

Just picked this tv up from a co-worker. When you turned on the tv the whole screen was pink. After Tuning (Manuel Convergence? in front of the tv) i got some colors back.. Its pale not alot of red anymore but watchable for now.

When i do touch focus... it says touch focus error and its barley readable because its all red.

What should i do next to get this working properly again..

    not questioning you, since you know alot more about this tv that i would.. but you dont think it would be the convergence ic's?

Change the l.c.d colour corretion board new £ 400 not worth doing in my opinion part hard to get i stopped reparing these 5 years ago . agro agro agro ebay part not good these sets have a horrible short life

    Hi yes it is convergance ic problems i have 2 of these in storage even working they aint great. parts for these sets were so expensive. my opinion only let it go it wil snow ball into more problems like sound dropout colour flashing lamp failiure. dirt on inside of screen the list is endless these keeped me in work back then . good luck regards kirk

If a laptop screen is changing colour to pink, what is the solution?
More than likely you will need a new screen. It could be the screen or it could be the video card inside the computer. Try connecting another screen to the laptop to isolate the problem. Borrow a screen from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the laptop. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok without the changing color to pink then your video card is ok and the problem is your original screen needs to be replaced. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same pink colors then your video card inside the computer is bad.

The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

Hi, My guess is your daughter messed it up. Go to menu and color and reset to default should fix it.
You may have to adjust color for your best viewing. Good luck.

A dull pink color usually means the backlight is going out. You can test this theory by plugging your laptop into an external monitor. If the picture is fine, you know you have a bad LCD on your hands.

They are medium difficulty to replace, and they're widely available on eBay for $100-$200 (USD).

Using the on screen menu, check the hue or wall color settings. [Hue]
Varies the color level from +/- green to +/-blue. The red level is used as reference. This adjustment is only valid for
Video, Component and TV standard inputs (not valid for RGB and DVI digital).


Using the Wall Color Correction [Wall Color]
This function allows for quick adaptive color correction in applications where the screen material is not white.
The following nine options are available.
• OFF • Blackboard
• Blackboard (Gray) • Light yellow
• Light green • Light blue
• Sky blue • Light rose
• Pink

Pinkish red screen
Your set doesnt have a color wheel you have 3 CRTs instead. Try turning down the red drive on the red crt circuit board that should help if not check the resistor that is connected to the red drive switch Vasriable resistor(switch) that is probably open if not the crt is probably at fault. If you need more info let me know.

Go to the convergence and align the red and blue + - Under Menu then Picture then convergence to get to this screen- Hope it helps

Screen color becomes pink
Check for any EM interference near your Laptop (eg. Speakers, Cordless, TV, Music Systems, etc) and place your notebook away from them. The pink screen will go away in due course.

Toshiba 57H81 free tv air does the toshiba 57H81 need a converter box or just an antenna? I tired all solutions with just free air television but it will not show...I used the APexdigital dt250 converter but it shows no signal please help to see what a may be doing wrong.
