Contact Olympus via website and get an estimate for repair. I recently replaced my canon because repairs were too costly as it was only a 4MP camera. I was able to upgrade with a camera from ebay for about the same price as repairing my old camera.

Dropped in water

DON'T try to switch on the camera. Remove the battery and after drying it from the outside, put it in a bag of rice till you can reach a repair centre.
Just google on camera or Phone dropped in water and read what the repair centre(s) have to say about that.
If it was very clean water, and the camera is not expensive enough to bring it to a repair centre, you could try staring it up after a few days in the rice, but still a chance the water already had don enough damage. Or while switching it on, permanent damage can occur because voltages can reach places the should not be. The minerals in the water can build bridges that will bring the damage.

I wish you wisdom and a little luck.

Camera will not power up after battery replacement

If the old batteries leaked it is possible that they may have damaged the camera, depending on how long they were leaking before you discovered them like that, I would suggest that if the camera is still under warranty to contact Olympus if not take it to a camera store and have them check it out for you.

Hi there i can 't get your these word." camera charger is blue, used battery and new,". Please let me know the battery is new or or its old? If its old then the battery life is finished. Thats why he can't store the power.

Kids dropped the camera in the bath a week ago - not working now (not switching on, even with changes of batteries). can anything be done?

Sir,
Whenever you drop electronic equipment in water, FIRST IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE BATTERIES.

Remove the cover, and set the item in a dry, warm, dust free environment for awhile.

Salt water is particularly bad--your camera may not recover. But don't bake it in the oven. Thermal expansion of sensitive camera components is a surefire recipe for failure.

Circuit boards are often washed with distilled water after manufacturing. So water is not the terrible bugaboo you might think, so long as it is clean and contact with water is limited. Otherwise oxidation and rust are inevitable.

You might also place a bag of dessicant near the camera. If you live in a humid environment, it might not be a bad idea to keep a bag of dessicant in your camera case anyway. These little bags are often shipped with new computers.

Thanks Good Luck

Olympus FE310 Series, Battery Problem

Hi, I have had the same problem with the battery not working.  I have changed batteries several times, with no change.  I bought the camera when I was pregnant so I could have a camera in my bag to take spontaneous photos of my baby but was disappointed at the birth and ever since because the battery is not dependable! I took it into the shop and was informed there could be a $90 charge if there is no mechanical problems... :-((

Olympus Underwater MJU 795 LEAKS

I have an olympus 770 sw I used to have the same problem... the solution is after using your camera make sure the camera is dry and open the slot for the battery and clean it and do the same for the other slot somtimes youll get small debree in the cracks of your cameras cover for the battery slot thats were the water enters. I use a little bit of vaseline on the rubber pading for the battery cover to lube it out and had no problems sinse.

Perrier (Mineral Water) + DMC-FX30 = No Work.

Wet and camera do not mix - wet onto the circuit board will cause a short and blow stuff. There is nothing to repair- cameras like other small electronics are machine made in a single piece. You can ask Panasonic via the support site - but I fear it is new camera time.
