How to convert MP4 to MP3 format using VLC Media Player

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player supporting most audio and video formats (H.264, Ogg, DivX, MKV, TS, MPEG-2, mp3, MPEG-4, aac, ...) from files, physical media (DVDs, VCD, Audio-CD), TV capture cardsand many network streaming protocols.
It can also convert media files, transcode and act as a streaming server over unicast or multicast and IPv4 orIPv6. It doesn't need any external codec, program or codec pack to work.

For more information please visit the website.
If you still don't have the installer of VLC Media Player you can download it here.

OpenVLC Media player then click on Media. On the drop down select Convert/Savec818083.jpg

On the Open Media window click on Add

Locate then select the file that needs to be converted then click on open

Once the file has been added click on the dropdown arrow (lower part of the window) then select convert

Click on browse to select the destination on where the file will be saved.

Onthe Profile drop down select Audio - MP3 as the profile

Once the profile has been selected click on Start to begin the conversion process

Check the status bar to observe the conversion progress

Once finished you can now play the newly converted audio file in MP3 format.
That's all folks . . .

I recently install window XP. I dont have sound

You will need to install the proper driver for your system. since you have not mentioned the make/model it is important to either install from your back the audio drivers after installation of the Windows Xp. If you do not have them , then you must search for the drivers which are compatible with your motherboard. normally these are all free downloads and you can search for them on net. Download and install. Your sound should be back to normal now. Hope this helps. Good day

If it's your computer's DVD you're referring to, you may have to download a codec to get it to work. Here is a free download that may get the video working for you:
If that doesn't help, make sure you check your cords and that they are good.
Hope this helps...

It could be due to outdated codec.

You can try to install CCCP or K-Lite Codec Pack that you can download in the link below

Make sure to remove all codec packs that you have installed before installing the codec packs.

Hope it helps:

I have no Soumd device in my PC...

You actually do have a sound device in your pc, just no drivers. there are a number of options. 1st go to the mfg site and use their driver upgrade service.( it's free) 2nd, has audio drivers and probably realtek ac97 will cure your problem.(also free) 3rd and the best option is to go to it is a free service that will scan your computer and give you the option to upgrade all the drivers on your system. There is no adware or spyware on this site and I send all my customers before I come out and charge them a service call.

Converting/ syncing dvds to 2GB mp3 player model: SMPK2242

I have the same exact player!

Using Media Coder, you need to set frame size to 320X240, codec to DivX, and audio to LAME codec.

I have had great sucess cramming whole movies down to < 200 megs by using 128Kbps for video, and 128Kbps for audio!

I will be posting a page on my website, with Media Coder Presets, and links to get Media Coder soon, and that is almost a foolproof way to get it done.

Do not use other mp3 codecs, as your player will balk.

My website is

watch there for updates!
