Ok has the mixer got a send and return phono sockets if it has not the efx unit will have to be wired between your mixer and amp.this is not the best way . what does the efx / effects unit do .

How do I troubleshoot and repair this amplifier?

simple really : learn electronics theory of operation , obtain schematic drawing of amp and then obtain testing devices , and using your new knowledge follow ckt thru from front to back to find defective parts , then replace them using more equipment
see simple really .
or you could open cover up and just look for the parts that are all burnt and melted over , that works too

I have a Behringer PMH660M powered mixer. After some hours sitting idle both the outputs stop working. The mixer part continues as is shown by the mixer meters continuing to operate. By turning the power...

I think Mute signal activated in your power mixer. This can be due to some cold solder joints or lose connection in unit.
Need qualified service technician to check it physically.

Can i use karaoke mic in harman avr 245 ?

No. The 245 doesn't have a microphone input. Besides, the speakers for a home surround sound system are a bit too delicate for the distortion levels generated by karaoke.

Here's a $300 speaker (yes, $300 for a single speaker) wrecked from teens doing karaoke. They then bust it more messing around trying to push the tweeter cone together so the crack wouldn't be so noticeable

If you still want to go ahead with the idea then you'll need some other bits of gear. For simplicity sake I'd recommend a karaoke CD+G player. It will have mic inputs, vocal echo, and take care of putting the works up on screen.

The alternative is a mixer with effects (echo, reverb) - Cheap is Behringer Xenyx 1202FX

and a source device for music and graphics. This could be your PC, but you'll then need to go trawling for karaoke files and you'll need some software to play them and do the words. Sax & Dotty is pretty good software.

The PC sound needs to be connected to the mixer in a stereo channel. The mic goes in mono on a mic channel. The output of the mixer goes to the AVR on an AUX input.

I have just bought a behringer vmx 1000. I have a sony stack system can you tell me how to connect it up, e.t.c what cables go where. Thankyou

IAW its sparse manual which apparently assumes some hi-fi experience on the part of the user...

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Success will depend on your "stack" systems capabilities.

I have a new set up and i need a step by step instruction on how to set up the mixer to the amp and the decks to the mixer/amp

if this is a dj type set up, the mixer should have a main output (RCA or XLR), that is what you connect to the input on the amp, each deck should have RCA outputs, depending on if they are turntables or cd players, plug the turntables into the phono channel inputs on the mixer and if they are cd players, plug them into the line inputs on the mixer

I have a Behringer UB2222FX-Pro Mixer. The effects control knob (turn/push) has broken below the face of the mixer. Can this part be replaced and where can I get it? Thanks

You need to find a pro audio repair shop to have that repaired. OR you can send it in to Behringer. To my knowledge parts are not available to just buy for them. You'll find that the switch you're ref. to, is soldered to circuit board.

Hi i am trying to buy a relacement power adapter lead for Behringer UB1202 Mixer.... i cant seem to get one any where and my local shops have never seen one like it the part that goes into the mixer has...

Here are all the specs.

http://www.behringer.de/EN/Products/UB1202.aspx

If you could look them over it tells what kind of adapter you need to power the unit. I would also need to know what kind of power you are plugging into ie 120 vac etc. Look at the sheets and let me know. I will then try to find what you need or perhaps explain how to make what you need.

Hooking up a turn table

You should get a turntable adapter. They adjust the impedance so they can be plugged into a typical auxiliary input. Or you get a DJ mixer; most can do the same thing. I have an old Realistic Stereo mixer that does the job, and it has two phono inputs, as well as a Tape input. Very handy for this purpose. Go to Radio Shack if your budget is tight, but a pro DJ mixer would probably be the best solution for an audiophile.
