The HTC710s gives me a blank-black screen, then on and off it let me see whats going on. Then blank again. It started only when i slided my phone open and now it doesn't stay on for long. I can still phone and recieve calls but can not see anything on my phone.
After posting here on the 8th of March, I did convince myself that it has to be a hardware problem. As the phone is out of warranty, I got a technical guide of the net and began to disassemble the phone. My feeling was that the lead connecting the two parts of the phone or the lead to the screen had a bad connection, due to dust entering the phone. Long story short, I opened both connectors, cleaned and reassembled the phone. To my surprise, the phone booted up and worked.
The problem only resurfaced twice since then, when using the Qwery. It has improved a lot and I believe that dust is the culprit. Hope this helps. Thomas

When your screen is cracked you can assume it is defect. If it a new phone, you could visit a phone repair shop and ask what it will cost to repair this. If you have a insurance first ask the insurance company how to solve. If you have to pay yourself, decide in the shop if you give it for repair or you buy a new one.
The reason your phone goes blank at intervals is because there is a problem with the phone.
First, flash the phone with the appropriate software and cable, then you open up the phone with the appropriate screwdrivers and check if the screen connector also known as the flex is properly seated on the main board. Also check if the flex is damaged so you will be able to replace the flex with a new one.
Having done this, your phone will be in good condition once again.
Hi, All nokia mobiles operating on Symbian operating system may sometimes hang resulting in a blank screen, if it has some virus infection or overloaded with lot of mutiple simultaneous running applications. It may also be caused due to some incompactible mobile applications. Solution: Remove the memory card and reset your mobile phone by removing the battery and installing it again. If your mobile started up, then goto Menu -> settings -> restore factory settings. If problem still exists then better flash the phone memory (just like reinstallation of phone firmware) by giving to to a nokia service center. I hope this is helpfull to you
