OH MY GOSH! SAME HERE! It first started when I'd just slide the qwerty board, but now it's all the time. I get a red light, orange light, all colors! I'm glad to see this problem isn't because of something I did.

same problem..i hate this phone..what a waste of time when the screen just blacks out ...restart restart restart till u suceed ..

Started when typing SMS on Qwerty. Became worse over time. Sometimes I think that it has something to do with the battery, as the screen will blank when the phone demands a higher current, like when it rings. Replaced the battery but problem remains. It seems to get worse as the battery drops below 60%. The LED's indicating charging and fully charged are also sometimes messed up. It also happens that I find the backlight of the screen on with the screen off. This drains the battery big time. I suspect a hardware problem in the power curcuit or the lead to the screen as mentioned in other posts. As the phone is out of warranty, I'm hassitant to sent it in.

Screen has been blanking out randomly for a few months. Over the last few days it has become unbearable rendering the phone all but useless.

Have only had the phone 6 months.

My phone also gave me the black screen 3  or 4 times a day.
After reading this forum I blew the phone with my compressor free of dust.
seems to work! Started up ok.

After posting here on the 8th of March, I did convince myself that it has to be a hardware problem. As the phone is out of warranty, I got a technical guide of the net and began to disassemble the phone. My feeling was that the lead connecting the two parts of the phone or the lead to the screen had a bad connection, due to dust entering the phone. Long story short, I opened both connectors, cleaned and reassembled the phone. To my surprise, the phone booted up and worked.
The problem only resurfaced twice since then, when using the Qwery. It has improved a lot and I believe that dust is the culprit. Hope this helps. Thomas

I start up the phone & gives blank white screen

Your Firmware is going damge due to break installation or what ever. but solution is that you attached your device with computer and upgrade software via NOKIA PC Suit. but remember don't break usb cable and power off pc during upgrading or installation on your handset.

Blank Screen HP 6119 - can't start it anymore

Hi:
I would not give up on contacting HP, because several models, including dv2000, dv6000 and dv9000 had defective motherboards, and the warranty was extended. Some people got free repair, and some just got discounted repair, but don't give up!

My screen goes blank all the time...i would take the battery out put it back in and it works for a bit then agagin it would go blank...the phone otherwise accepts calls and makes calls.....please help

the problem is with the phone's display, or with the connector...but it also may be with the phone's software...so I guess you should give it a master reset...but I don't guarantee that it will work
