Question about White Sewing 1730 Mechanical Sewing Machine
I have recently purchased a walking foot for my machine and it did not come with any instruction. I can get it on, but as soon as I begin to sew the needle gets stuck. Is there anywhere I can get instruction on how to install and use a walking foot.
SOURCE: Attaching walking foot
you probably purchased the incorrect walking foot for your specific machine. check and make sure if you have a high shank or a low shank....the way to determine if you have a low-shank is to measure the screw from the plate and look at the distance if it is 5/8 then you have a low, any higher about 1in. then you have a high shank, so you would purchase a foot depending on your shank.

SOURCE: do you have an illustration
You can get a pretty detailed instruction/manual here for the FY5318. http://www.feiyueusa.com/Manual/92966.pdf
The 92966 is the FY5318 sold through Harborfreight.com

SOURCE: Walking Foot for Brother LS-1217
Beckster, it may simply be that the walking foot needs to be tweeked a bit, perhaps screwed in further, or less.
If that doesn't help ...
Check out this site. All the Q&A answers in simple language, as well as a GREAT cust. support staff. (its a Brother after all!)

Is this a Janome MemoryCraft 9000? (I ask because the models seem to get mixed up in the threads)
If so, you can more than likely find accessories for the MC9000 either on eBay, your local Janome dealer (you can find the closest one to you @ Janome's website using the "Dealer Locator" feature) or even ... SEARS!
Sears contracted Janome to make several of their sewing machines (I think Janome might still be the actual manufacturer, but aren't 100% sure) and so the parts are compatible. You can even use a Kenmore Memory Card with a Janome MC9000.
As for oiling, if it's the MC9000 (much like practically all newer models) they don't need oiling. Though sometimes, you can dab a teeny-tiny amount of oil on the bobbin case if it needs it.
