Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my knowledge, if the unit referred to is an iLO 2600 TV unit, then a temporary workaround may be applied by increasing the distance of the rear of the unit from the wall. The idea is to improve/increase the ventilation. The best would be to add forced ventilation such as the installation of blower/fans similar to those used in desktop computers.

Identified faults are in the air vents of the unit and that basically the unit runs hot.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

If "The right half has a picture the left has coloured lines.", than that is not a setting problem, that means that the TV has a fault.
If the image is also dimmer than normal, then it is for sure the Sus board that has a blown fuse and must be replaced (fuse indicates board is defective).
If you get vertical band on a portion of the screen this can also be because of one of the ribbon cables that connect to the screen.
This cables have a built in chip technology, and when the chip is fried you get vertical bands starting from where the cable hooks up.
To find out the technician must remove the metal bracket and cable from the connector and read impedance on the resistors located on the cable.
On many models there is also a board called lower buffer , when that goes faulty you also get a verical band , or part of the screen black, or covered in lines, depending on the fault.

regards

Hi.welcome to fixya
repalce the main board and updated firmware to the latest. it is the red/green snow is a fairly common problem with the early units.after doing this Picture is fine now but we will see how long the fix lasts. Main board was definitely the issue, firmware upgrade was prob just because they could.

    Are they spaced evenly?

If so, an IC responsible for control of the individual pixels has failed.

If not - well, I can't think of anything that would cause a random appearance of any color.

The color flashes could be cause by a low 5 volts from the power supply to the video circuit. If you are able to measure voltages using a multimeter, I would suggest to check for proper voltages, specially the 5 volts. If they are low then you have a power supply that might fail completely soon.
If your TV is less then a year old, I would suggest to contact the manufacturers to get fix under warranty.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Depending which cables you are using, you should check your cables to see if you have them in the right order. The other issue with some ILO's they run really hot.  Keep the TV away from the wall and allow air flow.  If necessary, you may want to buy computer fans and mount them on top of the vents with air flowing outbound. (Using Coarse Thread Drywall Screws to mount-top two holes only) You will need to buy a universal adapter set to 12V. It will take some rigging with wires. (Red for  positive and black for ground) Test the fans before mounting. The fans run independently. Also, you will need a switch to turn off the fans when TV is not in use.  The problem with some models of ILO's , there are not enough vents for the heat build up. and it leads this problems.  so where ever it's hottest on the back panel, place the exhaust fan there. On bigger screens you may want 2-3 exhaust fans.  It is a $25-30.00 investment but your TV will last a lot longer...years

I have a Samsung LED computer monitor (model S23A300B). The monitor connects to my Macbook air. The Samsung monitor recently stopped showing the picture on my laptop. Instead, red, green, blue and white...

Try the plugging the setup into a different monitor to eliminate the lead however it sounds like the monitors died. With cost of screens even if you can get hold of one you'll be better off getting a new monmitor.

I have a cat5e wall plate(tph552) a cat5e wire4 colors don't match and 4 colors do ( brown,orange,blue,green,) are ok then wire has 4 that are white with (brown,orange,green,blue,)stripe. and wall plate...

The wires/colors in a category 5e cable run in pairs. They should be tightly twisted together, mostly white with a blue tracer. mostly blue with a white tracer- mostly white with an orange tracer- mostly orange with a white tracer, mostly white with a green tracer- mostly green with a whte tracer, and mostly white with a brown tracer- mostly brown with a white tracer. The jack you have sounds like a standard telephone or cat. 3 jack. If the jack is being used for a standard telephone line, you'll need to connect one of the wire pairs(usually the white/blue pair) to the green and red terminals on the jack.Make sure that the same pair is also terminated at the main telephone junction.

The picture is green

Make sure that the unit is connected to the tv properly. Be aware that most dvd players have six connections. You can connect the unit to the television using RCA cables (yellow, white, red) or RCA sound with component video (white, red, blue, green, and red). When using the yellow-white-red method, the sound is carried by the white and red cables and the video signal is carried by the yellow cable. If you're using the white-red-blue-green-red method, the white and one of the red cables carries the sound, and the blue-green-red cable carries the video signal. This connection uses one cable for the green component of the picture, one for the blue, and one for the red. Make sure that the cables are connected properly and you don't have the two red ones mixed up. Connect Sound-R to Sound-R, component R to component R, etc. If that doesn't work, you may be able to adjust the picture on the tv. There's still a chance that the machine is defective.

No sound on play back using camcorder on technika tv

Looks like you are using Component cables. There are five cables. The first three cables are Green,Blue and Red. These are the ones that are molded next to each other and are the Video signal cables. The other two cables are Red and White and they are the audio cables.
First to correctly hook up these cables you need to Connect (Match) Color for Color. (Green to Green, Blue to Blue, and Red to Red. To tell if you have correctly connected the Video cables is to look at the screen. If the picture looks ok (Normal with no colors missing then you have connected the video cables correctly). If you see a missing color meaning red, then switch the Red cables. The picture should be ok now. The remaining two cables are the Red and White cables. The "Red cable" is for the "Right" audio input and the "White" cable is for the "Left" audio Input". If all is connected correctly then you should have a good picture and Left and Right audio.
