SOURCE: i bought the Samson AP1 to use it on my bass

The AP1B was designed for the Bass as it gave a lower end signal responce the unit was designed to be intergrated into the effects pedal set up or into the bass itself .. the main difference is in the signal sent has a wider frequency on the bottom end..it now discontinued. according to their site..

SOURCE: My Samson Airline 77 wireless

Hi, when loud screeching sounds and static is are heard on sound systems in most cases it is as a result of poor wire connections to the speakers. Check the wires to the speakers most likely the screeching and static is coming from those. Also static could also be caused by mobile devices being close to the receiver. Mobile devices such as internet modems and mobile phones as well as radio transmitting devices could cause static and screeching.

So, if I am understanding you right. As you are talking on the mic you are cutting out as if it is shutting down. If this is the case I would adjust your settings. It sounds like it is clipping from maxing out the input. A protection is cutting you out. Let me know if this is not the case.

Change the samson airline 77 microphone for a AMT, for sax player

Unfortunately, you don't have enough information to go on to give you a definative answer.

The Sampson Aireline will plug onto ANY xlr type DYNAMIC mic and should work.

The one thing on the AMT Elite I found said it was a "condenser" type element which means it would NOT work with your Sampson setup. Condenser mics require a Phantom power arrangement to charge the element and operate the local FET input amplifier.

If you are trying to mic a violin, the Airline 77 that was for the dynamic mics is a very poor choice as it is low impedance. Most violin pickups use a Piezo pickup which requires VERY high impedance input amplifier.

For my wife's violin we use an Autolycus pickup and an X2 wireless sytem. The pickup comes from New Zeeland and the X2 is CD quality digital wireless link. You have to make your own connector at the violin for the X2 cable was intended for guitars.
