wealthwise has asked you to clarify your question to best assist with your rca d52w20b problem:

Based on what you are describing, you are having a problem with the on off switch relay, it's most likely loose or a short either way it needs to be replaced, Suggest you contact RCA if it's stil in warranty otherwise have local shop take a look, there is not much else you can do except keep pushing the button till it completely goes out.
how can i clearify it ant more everyone that is posting a problem with this model is the same thing ???????????????????????????????

Capacitor CP150 on the power/deflection board is going bad. It is a 200 microfarad at 16 volts. Depending on you experience level, this may be a repair for an experienced tech. Hope this helps

I've fixed this issue several times by purely soldering on the Deflection board. This is the board of the left-hand side when viewed from the back. It is held in by all clips, there are some on the edges of the board and some that go through the board. Pop these up with a flathead screwdriver to get the board out. You will have to undo several cables, most straightforward, but the two farthest from you have clips on them. Wiggle forward and back to undo the clips as you pull them up. The large red wire (coming from flyback transformer) is difficult to unhook so I leave it attached and just flip up the board and solder right there. Use a bright light and magnifying glass to inspect the solder connections for cracks. Heat the connection and add just a little solder to revitalize the connections. I usually find some in the middle of the board causing problems. Also make sure to solder the semi-circle of connection on the bottom of the flyback transformer as they are known to crack and pop fuses.

The power button is getting worn out. id get a universal rremote and use it for the tv so you dont have to push the button to turn in on other than on the new remote.

Hello This is a common problem with the ITC222 chassis, I would check CP120, CP140, CP150 to see if they are bad I suspect CP150 is the one that is bad. Its value is 2200uf 16VDC. It is located on the same board as the IHVT and is in between the Heat sink in the middle of the board.

I hope this helps,

The bad capacitor will appear to be puffy. I would suggest that you change this before it goes completely out. I have the schematics is you need them.

    Thank you,

It could be the problem of convergence ic on the main board of the tv and it needs to be replaced. also one of the capacitors maybe getting heated up and creating this problem. that has to be checked on the main board and replaced.
If you can do this in the OSD give it a go and see what happends

kind regards

the way you can clarify this is by basic troubleshooting. You state that the TV works fine exept when you come to turn it on!!! this obviously to do with the power relay switch behind the on/off button which has a faulty or has a dry solder, to check this you have to get to the panel which the on/off switch connects to, leave the TV on stand by until you can get this board out and checked for continuity

    regards

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, would venture that the unit has a heat related or more specifically, a cold solder issue. This would require a basic repair which involves "shotgun approach" of checking the reverse side of the PCBS and re-applying solder especially to the power components.

Alternately, a visual inspection would also help potential capacitor faults. Often capacitors that would have leaks or blistered top would take some time to charge itself causing delays in powering ON. Of course normal repair involves replacing the capacitor.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Hi,
Let me know how old is this TV?
Seems it has weak capacitors in power and deflection circuits and needs to be replaced.

The switch module button on the main board is bit loose and needs to be soldered to make it proper.

Try hard reset .

Unplug your TV from power chord for 30 minutes and plug back the power chord to the tv .
This will reset your tv.

Check for any blown fuse in your tv and also remove the connection from cable box and check for any loose connection between cable box and tv .

The board is fine, unless u cracked it. You need to change the buttons only. Shouldn't be hard to find. Look for RCA microswitches.
