Printer pulling on paper (by 5 users)

Just found why I kept getting paperjam error on my X6150. When you open the top, you will see 4 plastic plates sitting over the main rollers. These plastic plates have 2 little mini rollers on each plate that sit on top of the main rollers. I found that these plates were all sitting back about 5mm back to where they should be. When mine jammed originally when a pen unknowingly fell into the paper feeder, the motor does a quick reverse motion and pushed these plates backwards, not sitting on the roller correctly. I pushed each of these plastic plates forward(towards the control panel) and each clicked back into place. No more paper jam and feeds normally.

When did the pulling paper happen? Was paper jammed and removed and then this problem occured? If so check for a stuck piece of paper in the leftside of the roller/feeder. Do the right and left feeders seem even? When the paper starts to feed tightly hold the paper on the rightside and see if the leftside frees up.

My husband took the top cover off the printer and took a good look inside with a flashlight. He found a hot pink crayon stuck where the paper feeds through. I guess I should have had a better look initially, since the paper never made it all the way through the printer. Works like a charm now!!
