Question about BellSouth GH5831BK Cordless Telephone
I get a dial tone but when I dial a # it just keeps going back to a dial tone. The # just will not go through!!!!!!!!!!!
SOURCE: I have a MH9926 900
If the handset volume control won't raise the volume, the speaker has probably gone bad. I used to change a lot of them when working at a shop where we serviced phones. These days, it's probably less expensive simply to buy a new phone than to try repairing one. Basic phones are only $15 or so. You won't have the headache of trying to locate a part (and if you find one, the price plus shipping may come close to the cost of a new phone anyway) and the hassle of installing it. And a new phone will have a warranty.
Whatever you decide, good luck and thanks for using Fixya!
