Question about HP LaserJet 2840 All-In-One Printer

There is a paper jam in the ADF... I have a hp 2840

I tried to pull the paper out myself, but I did not have enough leverage, and I ripped the paper. How do I get the paper out?

I have about 1/2 the paper still in the scanner path and do not know how to get it out. I do not want to harm any moving parts but have to get the paper out. I need to take the document feeder off first but forgot how they cliped on. It looks like it has two clips? I believe I can take the feeder down and then get to the paper? Any ideals

    Thanks

The top cover piece at the left-hand end of the ADF just lifts up. Put your fingers under the edge where the paper feeds into the ADF reader and lift gently on only the plastic cover itself. It is hinged on the leftmost outside of the reader mechanism. Once that cover is lifted then the main feed roller is exposed, and it also just swings up out of the way to the left to provide easy access to the feed path. You will likely also have to lift up the entire ADF to gain access to the flat glass flatbed read platten area to access the remainder of your original.

Just fixed my problem today. It was the ADF assembly motor. The spur gear had cracked open where it can no longer grip tightly to the center rod when the motor spins. I bought a new motor assembly from CompassMicro for the total amount of $23 and my printer is back in running order like normal again. Beats taking it to a repair center and get ripped!

Pull out the drum cartridge by it's green handle then
look for your paper at the timing roll section-there is a plate you can lift or release to access jams.

other than that the fuser unit on the rear of the mfc can be pulled out by moving two levers.
