Please remove the Memory Card and try again (try changing the wallpaper). In most cases, this problem is caused by virus or corrupted files saved on the Memory card (Maybe you didn't actually save them, but it's possible when transferring or in other ways). If even removing the memory card doesn't fix the problem, then please update the firmware or completely flash ( reinstalling the mobile's operating system) your phone. To do this, you better take it to a service center or to a mobile repairing shop, otherwise you may make mistakes which will be hard to get it work again.
If you forgot your unlock code you can try doing a soft reset and if that does not work you can try hard reset:
Here are a couple of codes to soft/hard reset/format a Nokia mobile device: Soft reset code *#7370# Hard reset code *#7780#
IF that does not work , try the following manual method to hard reset/format Nokia : + Turn off the mobile device. + Press and Hold the following three buttons: the green Call Answer button, the “*” button, and the number “3′ button. + While holding these buttons, turn on the phone and keep holding the keys untill the mobile phone restarts and prompts you to enter details.
Do a hard reset but keep in mind this will restore to its factory default settings
Turn off the mobile phone.Press and Hold the following three buttons: the green Call Answer
button, the “*” button, and the number “3′ button. While holding these three buttons, press the power button to switch on
the device.Release your fingers when the screen displays the Nokia Logo and the
language selection menu further.
Try doing the hard reset: To hard reset/format Nokia N78 (all data will be

I hate to say it but you might need to hard-reset the phone. If you choose to do so BACK UP YOUR DATA first. You can get a free program called "PIM Backup." This will let you back up all of your contacts, emails, etc. (all personal information). To hard reset, hold down both of the soft keys at the same time, then simultaneously use your stylus to hit the reset button. You should get a black screen with some text on it asking if you want to hard reset. Press the "send" key to confirm. If you don't get the screen right away keep trying as it doesn't work perfectly every time.
1. Turn off your mobile unit
2. Remove the sim card
3. Remove the battery
After you do all those, install them back again, and try to turn on the power. If you are experiencing the same problem. I suggest you should bring your phone to a service center to further check the error.
Try to to do a soft reset to refresh phone main memory. If it is not working then you ahve to be aware that you need a hard reset the phone on order to bring it back to factory pre-set but you will have to loose all your own stuffs there beside factory pre-loaded stuff so backup your phone data before taking this action. Good Luck
