Question about E-Machines M5305 Notebook
I must be missing some screws, unless there's a trick to removing the back of the PC, in order to get to the optical drive. I replaced a defective harddrive and now the optical drive will not boot my XP disks. I want to replace the optical drive, but am having difficulty with the back of the notebook where the monitor connects.
Either I am missing some screws or there is a trick to removing it so I can access the optical drive.
Can you assist?
There are two small screws that the monitor cable would screw into, these have to be removed (7mm i believe) to be able to remove the base. The optical drive will typically pull out of the side after a screw has been removed and latch has been opened. I wouldn't go as far as removing the entire base.
