Question about Samsung Digimax S500 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Formatting Took a few pics on the camera itself (no memory card) and apparently lost my usb cord. Is there any way to put the pictures on a memory card without formatting the card and losing all my pics?

Deleting or formatting won't make the data in memory card erased permanently.

Those lost pics are still stored on the memory card, it's just invisible or inaccessible. Only the FAT or NFTS table is erased (the information about where those data were saved), but the real data are still intact there in sectors of the hard drive.

So as long as those photos are not overwritten by new pictures, it's highly possible to recover them. And the MOST Effective way is to rely on some format recovery programs.

Try Asoftech Photo Recovery program, which can recover pictures after deeply scanning the memory card to look for lost pics you accidentally deleted or formatted.

Kodak easyshare c613: memory card says its full when there is no pix on it, what happens is: i turn it on, says "memory card full", i go to review, says "no pictures or videos to display on memory card",...

If you connected the camera to the computer with a USB cord to download your pics and then just yanked out the cord without using the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right corner of your screen, the card may have been corrupted. Replace it.

How do i move my pics from my internal memory to my sim card, i lost my USB cord and cant get the pics off my internal memory.

There should be a "Copy" entry in the Setup menu. You can use this to copy pictures between the internal memory and the SD card.

Photos on camera review but not memory card

before unplugging any usb device from the computer... it is best to safely remove before unplugging the device...

i used to just unplug before i lost over 200 pics. was able to recover using recovery software but the whole process took about 3 hours to do. since using safe remove.. not a single loss

some pros suggest formatting the card on regular basis to also clean the card of file fragments... but once card is formatted, the pics are not recoverable... be careful

Internal memory??

Highly recommend that you consider using a card reader to download you pictures. You insert the camera's memory card into the reader, and then insert the reader into a USB port on your computer. The card then shows up as a hard drive so that you can simply copy/paste or drag your picture files onto your computer. Card readers are much more faster in downloading pics, do not require the use of your camera's batteries, and provide much more reliable downloading of the pictures (fewer errors). They're also VERY inexpensive these days. Here are some examples of CF card readers from Amazon:

Also, if the card has somehow become corrupted, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos. Take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

You will also need to use a card reader with this software. Finally AFTER you've recovered your photos, recommend formatting the card IN YOUR CAMERA to prevent this from happening again. Note that formatting will totally erase your card. Turn on the camera, press the menu button, select the tools menu. Go down to the selection that states your CF card's memory capacity and select it. Then follow the formatting prompts.

I have a few pictures on my camera and I want to put them onto my memory card because I lost the usb cord that goes to the camera. Is there a way that I can do that?

The pictures on your camera are almost certainly being written to a memory card that is in the camera. The most common cards are SD, CF, and memory stick. You can buy a USB memory card reader that will read all of these formats for about $10 at any electronics store. Plug the reader in your computer and then just insert your memory card any time you want to get the pictures off the camera and put them on your computer. This is easier than messing with the cables that come with cameras anyway.

Memory card says it needs to be formatted but i have pics on it and I need them..please help I will be waiting!

I had the same problem with my 4Gb card that has 750 photos on it. I tried doing different things, however, it did not work. At last I took the card out and blew on its chips, gave it a good shake and put it back. Then, the miracle happened. It could read all my photos. I guess there was some dust that had accumulated on the chips at the back of the card. Hope it can help you, too.

Photos saved to camera !!! need them on memory card.

You can use the Backup function of the camera to get the images from internal memory to your xD card. Go to Mode Menu - Card tab and then Backup function.
