First of all, it sounds as if the network cable or plug this cable is plugged into is bad. If they are good, make sure from you IT person what the IP address is supposed to be. You will need to check that the IP address is correct in the copier. Press Additional Functions, then systems settings, then network settings, TCP/IP, then you should see the IP address. Check at the computer to make sure the Port for the printer is the same. Good luck
Hello ,actually its a very easy way to install canon 3220 to a network just download the driver from canon official site :software.canon-Europe.com
go to printers and faxes add printer press local then next choose create port choose stranded tcp/ip write down the same ip of the copier then press next ,choose have disk and specify where the file u download it from the site and after that choose from the menu canon clc3220 c1pcl5 then press ok so now the printer driver is defined. now at the other side (photo copier ) press * system management network settings choose TCP/IP and give the machine IP turn off and the on the machine to save the changes .now the machine is connected through the network :)

if you want to configure IP adrress you have to righty clic on the LAN connection and select properties and then select internet protocol ( TCP\IP). select its properties and enter manual IP address 192.168.1.2 and sub mask net 255.255.255.0 and press OK and close dialogue box.
After that open run and enter ping 192.168.1.2 press enter if you got reply the printer is ready.
all this use when printer on and connected properly.

Is the Canon connected with a cable that's connected to an active port. You can try to Fixed IP hold down 1 & 7 When you power up the machine, make the necessary network configurations and see if pings back with a reply.

I am not "at" a 3220 but I will try to visualize. On the "op" panel to the right of the display is a button that looks like an asterisk and says additional funcions.Press it. Bottom left tab says "system settings". Press it. New menu,right side , second tab, says network settings. Press it. At that point you should see tcp/ip settings. Press this tab and you will see the ability to manipulate many of your network settings."NOTE" this device is indeed capable of supporting being set to DHCP. You of course understand the pitfalls of having a printer set to dhcp. It is almost always recommended that a printer/scanner/fax/document server/ have a static ip address. i have an IR 3300 (used) i have given TCP/IP correct with machine and PC also. ping command is working properly and IR Machine also response from the host and also i'm success output (Printout) but can't scanning. I have scangear also tried but the messeage appear "the spacified IP address is invalid or scanner is not connected to the specified IP" but my IP address is correct. (both side) i know that after this my Machine will be online from System button but there is no software. i cant solve my problem

I am not sure why or how I just bumped into this question 8 months later....and why no one has answered your question prior. I hope to God some one has helped you or you bumped into it on your own. If not, press additional functions,system settings, network settings, and the rest is obvious.
