Re: Sound issue

Ok I have this amp and I am currently fixing it. The one i have is the mrv 1507 and it's had a bad life. Anyway no sound and the lights are changing colors means that there is internal problems...resistors, mosfets, possibly caps, or diodes. I suggest to call alpine and see what they can do for you. I am certified in electronics hence why I'm fixing it. If you know circuitry you can call PacParts and they can get you the parts you need. If you don't believe me go look at alpines site and look at the parts/service section their website is posted under there! Hope that this helps you out a little more. Sorry to hear you have a fried amp. It's a kickass amp when it is fully functional!

Re: Sound issue

Is the fuse good? Is it hooked to 12 volt source? Are the speaker wires good? What does "the light" have to do with it?

The car had existing cables in it and i tried hooking up the amp to a sub i know works. The amp doesn't light up or anything and the sub doesnt put sound. What's wrong?

Those existing cables are suspect. Start by getting power to your amp, then connect other wires, regardless of color code, to the sub. Beware of wires that look good but really are shorted somewhere. You may have to label each wire as you go along to identify its real function. You may even have to run some new wires to replace existing ones.

My amp green light is on and fan but no sound

make sure you have good connection to all your wires something coulda came loose, but the popping sound could be that two wires were touching and could result in blowing a fuse

Amp will not put out sound The red light comes on

yes you have a internal fault of the amp. the circuit that puts it into safe mode is bad and that is a very small chip on the board know as a op amp. needs to be repaired.

Amp turns on, no sound comes out, replaced output transistors

i would be looking into the input stage of the amp. seeing that amp has a protection circuit if it saw a issue with the output's it would put the amp into protect mode and not let the power supply turn on. so the issue is most likely in the input side of the board . from the symptoms it sounds that way also.

Sounds problem

First things to check:
  1. You changed the fuses on the amp, but have you checked the fuse that is inline on the +12V wire? Most of the time, it's right near the battery terminal.
  2. Do you have +12V at the amp's power terminals? If not, either your +12V or ground line has a break or disconnect.
  3. Try taking a piece of wire and connecting it to both the remote connection of the amp and the +12V on the amp. This should cause the amp to turn on (if all is well). If not, the issue might be internal to the amp and would require professional repair.

Amp light is on but doesn't put anything out to my subs

if you are sure its the amp. the problem is internal. but if your not sure, try a different stereo or source of sound to the inputs of the amp. if there is still no sound than it is the amplifier and it could be a number of things.

Amp not putting out sound

This is not a problem that a normal comsumer should try to repair themselves. It's time to take it to a pro. It sounds like you have blown out at least one of your output channels. If you are getting any red light at all then the good news is that the power supply section of the amp is probably still good. About half of all the electronics in your amp is for the power supply section. The other half is for the actual amplifiers of the amp. Good luck, I hope it's not too bad.

Rt 202 led light red and no sound

With the system turned off, disconnect the speaker wires from the amplifier. Turn on the system. If the light stays red, then the amplifier has an internal problem. If the light turns green, then your problem is a blown speaker, or a speaker wiring issue.
