    I have a AEG lavamat turbo and the door has stuck in spite of going through 2 cycles to try to free it. I have unplugged for an hour . There is no warning display , all seems normal here.
    Any thoughts

Hi, If the door doesnt unlock even after unplugging, then its the problem with the door mechanism or the door lock failure.
If you are not sure about how to open the unit, contact a service person.
Good luck.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my knowledge, an AEG Lavamat turbo 16810 makes use of an Electric door interlock or door lock mechnism shown below.
AEG lavamat turbo 16810 DOOR STUCK - b302c79.jpg
Possible causes could be:

  • component failure;
  • there is still water inside or the machine thinks that there is still water inside;
  • the door handle is faulty;
  • the controller/logic board is faulty.
Temporary workaround may include:
  • unplugging from the mains for an hour or so;
  • manually draining (messy);
  • try any cycle and then immediatelty "Cancel" after the unit has started to make its run.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

  1. The water hasn't pumped out properly and the washing machine has a pneumatic door safety lock (a rubber hose connected to the door interlock and connected to a pressure chamber bottle on the tub - water forces air up this tube and locks the door. the washing machine wont empty the water.
  2. The water has pumped out properly, but a blockage of gunge inside the pressure chamber bottle is trapping the air that's operating the door lock (if a pneumatic lock is fitted - not many have these days due to cost cutting)
  3. Door interlock jammed
  4. Door catch, handle, or mechanism broken
  5. ****** (a device that detects the motion of the drive belt fitted to many older Hotpoint washing machines which "pecks" at the belt when the door handle or button is operated) is broken or has fallen off
Do not take the lid off and reach inside the washing machine to try and release the door if the washing machine is still plugged in as you will be electrocuted.

AEG Lavamat 64809 error code E30

Lavamat?! Where in the *&%^ is this machine from? Yugoslavia! I'm guessing it will not allow water IN Because only the Spin (Centrifuge) cycle works?! So if that is so you need your water inlet valves replaced, there are Two. Even in machines named after a Bar of Soap!

My AEG lavamat turbo 16810 update, makes a rumbling noise when the pump runs. The filter is clear so I presume I need to remove a foreign body from pump. My question is how do I get to it. can you give...

I'm not sure if this model has an access panel with 2 screws at the bottom, but if not, An easy way to access is by tilting the washer against the wall and removing the bottom panel, Should be 4 screws. from there you can remove the hose and retrieve the debris from the pump most likely change. have a fairly good size bowl and towels close by to catch the water. make sure the washer is disconnected from it's power source. Hope this helps.

AEG Lavamat 16820: Strange noise coming the machine

Ok, the motor windings are bad. the A.C. hum is a warning that the motor will sound when the windings are separated or shorting. its unable to hold a balanced current.the motor will actually stop soon if it isn't repaired.
