Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-40S2010 40 in. LCD Television
Line started about 4" from the top but has now ran the full legnth of the TV. It is a black line and appears to a "crack" on the inside of the TV. The line is visable when the TV is off. 52" Bravia XBR. TV was purchased in February of this year.
It definately looks like a mechanical defect with the screen. If you see the line when the set is shut off this means that the screen may have a crack in it, or there is a defect in the substrate.
This type of fault is fixed by replacing the screen assembly. The cost of this would not be worth it.
