Power button... Before my machine completely stopped turning on, I would have to press the power button several times for it to boot? Has any body else had this problem? Can it be fixed?

it happens the same with my lapt. I'll be looking for a solution and if I find I'll post it here

does not turn on, or only on once every dozens of tries. Probably because of overheated (not repairable) motherboard. Fairly common in this model.

I think I have same problem. It turned on about half the time. Now it doesn't turn on at all. When I press the power button the light turns and the hard drive makes a small noise as if it has power. The floppy drive is also active but doesn't read anything.

Yes, you need a new motherboard. hp lappy's have been having serious issues with these problems. my suggestions is look for a service that does board work in your area to reflow or repair the motherboard. ebay has tons of people who offer this service.

Good Luck!

Laptop wont boot up, black screen, has power

You didn't post the Make, Model of Laptop or the OS you are using. I'll use a Win 7 solution. Boot the Laptop, open the Control Panel, select Power Options, set to High Performance, select Change Plan Settings, set SLEEP to Never, select Change Advanced Power settings, go through the settings , set SLEEP and Hibernate to Never, Power buttons and Lid to shut down. Always shut down and unplug your laptop when not in use to prevent damage from power surges and possible Fire hazard IF the battery malfunctions. A reboot every day will reset the computer.

DVD stuck in my Panasonic DMR-E30

Hi Rock.

I had the same problem like this on my machine. The best way to fix it is to turn the machine off completely and hold on the eject button then turn the power on. You want the first thing the player does is to eject the disk without trying to read it first.

I hope it works let me know if it doesn't and i'll try and recreate the problem on my player and see what i can do to get the disk out.

The last resort is to manually take the disk out but lets cross that bridge if my suggestion above doesn't work.

Xerox workcentre 7328 showing error code 116-322

Try to Initialize the Spool Disk: NOTE: Initializing the spool disk will delete all jobs in all queues. This procedure can be used when a corrupt job has caused the printer to stop printing. This procedure can also be used to correct certain machine faults.
  1. Press the ON / OFF switch. The power switch is located on the front right side of the machine under the Control Panel.

  2. Wait until the Touch Screen goes blank (this may take several minutes).

CAUTION: Make sure to press the correct buttons all at the same time. An incorrect button combination may delete all customized printer settings.

  3. Press and hold down the [6] button on the numeric keypad, the [Energy Saver] and the [Stop] buttons simultaneously while powering ON the machine. Continue to hold down the three buttons until the Touch Screen displays several lines, goes blank and then displays lines again.
  4. Release the buttons. The machine will continue its normal boot up procedure to initialize the spool disk.

Canon mx330 printer error 5200

Try this: Press the resume button (or cancel).

If not, unplug the unit and plug it back in.

Or, try this: Open the lid so the printer moves the head to the center position and unplug the power cord. Remove the ink and head. Plug the machine back in and let it go through it's startup routine. When it's done, open the lid and reinstall the head/ink cartridges.

If this does not work, you may have a bad printhead. Printheads for Canons cost anywhere from $50 to over $100 depending on where you get them and what model the printer is.

WARNING If, during your testing, the machine suddenly dies completely (no power at all) do not purchase a new print head. Some Canon models have a bad type of failure where the printhead goes bad and shorts, which draws too much current from the main board causing the main board to blow. If you replace the printhead in a machine with a bad main board caused by this failure you will just blow the new printhead. Remember this only applies if your machine suddenly dies completely (no power at all).

Good luck.

Canon PIXMA MP830 - DRPD Problem I've been using this printer/fax for several years with DRPD. A power outage knocked out all settings. The DRPD is not on any of the menu settings; a Canon tech couldn't...

I had the same exact problem and it took me a bit to get working. For some reason, your printer's destination has been reset. In my case, it reset to Japan. The DRPD option is only available for US and Canada. You need to enter the service menu to reset the printer's destination back to US. Here are the steps that I followed.

1) With the machine power turned off, while pressing the Stop/Reset button, press and hold the On/Off button. (DO NOT release the buttons.) The Copy button lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.

2) While holding the On/Off button, release the Stop/Reset button. (DO NOT release the On/Off button.)

3) While holding the On/Off button, press the Stop/Reset button 2 times, and then release both the On/Off and Stop/Reset buttons. (Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the Alarm LED and Copy button light alternately, Alarm in orange and Copy in green.)

4) When the Copy button lights in green (stops blinking), press the Stop/Reset button 5 times.

5) Press the On/Off button.

6) Press the Stop/Reset button 3 times to select US.

7) Press the On/Off button.

8) Press and hold the On/Off button for a few seconds to turn off the printer.

9) Press and hold the On/Off button for a few seconds to turn the printer back on.

10) When the printer has booted up, press Fax then Menu.

11) Select the "Receive mode settings" menu and you should now see "DRPD" as the 3rd option.

Let me know if you have any problems.

The Cause of Problem:

The Power Buttons electrical circle sometimes just braked it by one of sensors and the result is the 2 beeps and Power Supply is in protected mode error.

The whole computer is turn off but the power button is turn on and this is the nub of the matter. Because if you want turn on the computer you can't because already turn on but just the Power button and you can't do anything.

The solution:
You need just change the Power Supply and don't do anything just the power cable put into the Power Supply after turn off computer.
Finaly change back the Power Supply.
