Question about E-Machines EMA M6807 PC Notebook

1 Answer

Emachines M6807 suddenly has display problems after years of working great...as soon as laptop display starts to light up,even while booting, before windows starts, all the normal images on the screen are covered by strips of bars and lines which obscure everything underneath. i have tried rolling back the video driver and tried using the vga output to my tv and the display is equally obscured there, too. Not sure what to do now

...pay me and I'll tell you how I fixed it...I know one thing, software companies and manufacturers are getting away with sabotaging peoples older PCs and laptops by corrupting working machines with "auto updates" . These harmful changes can be found in certain log files and can be corrected if the owner is smart enough. Most people would just assume their machine "died" and would buy a new one...not me...sic semper tyrannis!!!

EMachines eMD620 suddenly shutdown and not boot anymore

When this happened was the laptop overly hot? If the laptop's head got too high it could have shutdown to protect itself. It wouldn't boot until the heat had disparate. Sit you laptop aside for about 30 minutes and see if it will boot then. If it does you might want to check out a cool mat.

Unable to boot emachine 350

It is possible the battery is an open circuit, so even with the power adapter plugged in there is not enough power to boot the machine. Laptop batteries last about 2-3 years.

Switch on does not start up is there a reset button

If it doesn't start up the reset button is useless, there's nothing to reset. Try first to boot in the BIOS Press the F1 key at the Emachines screen. If you can't see even that then the problem is hardware .
Try first to boot from the mains without battery; then try to boot without the hard disk. If even this way you can't then it's time to take it to a shop, there's nothing more you can do to fix it.

Dell inspiron does not boot up

Do you see anything on screen? Dell logo? I will assume you see nothing. Not even a Dell logo.

First test your power supply with a meter to be sure it is putting out 18-19 volts. If good, remove the laptop battery and try again. The next tests should be done with the battery not connected to the laptop.

Remove the hard drive and see if it boots. If not, next remove the dvd drive from the laptop and try to boot. If no good, remove the ram, clean the contacts on the ram and the slot with a pink pencil eraser....gently, just make them shiny. Try to boot with no ram/hdd/dvd. Put the ram back in and try again. Try connecting the laptop to an external monitor.

If after all this you still cannot get a Dell logo at boot time, the mainboard is likely dead. A refurbished one (with only 90 day warranty) will probably cost you at least $250 from Dell. Please let this one go and look at a new laptop.....sorry.

Hope this helps :)

Blue screen after less than 5 minutes after boot-up. IALMRNT5 error.

Try booting in safe mode and try system restore, by clicking on start>All prog>accessiories>system tools>system restore. and restore the system to an earlier time when it was working fine.

Emachines 1900+ gets power to the monitor and computer but wont boot

There could be a number of causes. Do you hear any beeps when the computer starts up? Try seating all the chips in the motherboard. That means, apply pressure to each individual chip on the motherboard with your finger or thumb. The goal is to make sure each chip is securely attached to the board. Sometimes, heat or new h/w installs partially "pop" some of the chips out of the motherboard - causing the circuitry to be disconnected...
