Lcd screen don't work after I remove cam from dock

The LCD screen was working just fine when it was on the dock. After I finished transfering files from the memory card onto the pc, I offed the cam, removed it from the dock, and on it again. But it displays nothing. I can still hear the beeping sounds as I shift from different modes or press the recording button. Even the touch screen seems to work (beeps as I press on the black screen). I don't think it's the wiring that is faulty. It was right after I took it out of the dock that the screen refuse to work. Could it be because I didn't press the "remove drive safety" option from my pc before I offed my handycam? I tried the reset button too. Thanks

Re: lcd screen don't work after I remove cam from dock

As your buttons are working when you press buttons on LCD panel ,The LCD strip which connects LCD Panel to main circuit board (called main board or mother board) is partially dammaged. The symptom changes as per the actual cutting of that strip. after replacing the strip FP-*** will solve the problem. FP-is the part No. If you want correct part code I can give you later as I have to chk in service manual Thanks

The LCD screen flickers on a perticular angle... open normal --- working.. no flicker (Cam and LCD at Rt. Angle) Twist screen by 180 degree... still working no flicker Now move twisted screen...

The most likely cause for this is a damaged or defective flexible ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the camera body and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

I can turn my camera on, but there is no screen or sight for recording or play edit.

normally, if you can turn the camera on everything should work including the lcd. if its just an issue with the imaging sensor, you wont see anything on the viewfinder (for the viewfinder to work you need to close the lcd screen) but should at least see the indicators, same in the lcd screen and view your videos in playback mode. if its an lcd screen issue, there would be nothing coming up in any mode the camera is set to. you can try to reset cam back to default settings (press reset while cam is on, its located on the side where you have the handstrap, just below the speaker), or do power reset (remove the batt and ac adapter for at least a minute). if still the same, your unit may require service. thanks. hope this helps.

My Handycam shows a bluish screen(DCR-HC32E)

did you happen to drop the cam? there could be a technical error with the LCD screen. take it to the nearest Sony service center and have them take a look at it. you can try resetting the cam and see if it changes anything.

LCD screen working only if turn counterclockwise

make sure you open the lens 90 degrees to the camcorder.normal operation of the cam will allow you to rotate the lcd to a maximum of 180 degrees and can eve close it with the lcd screen side facing out. you can try pressing the reset button.if it still won't work try removing the battery and unplugging it from the ac adaptor for at least a minute.if still doesn't work properly, issue could be with a bad ribbon inside the lcd that loses contact when you turn it clockwise.that of course would need replacement or repair.

Inside the door hinge area is a small switch that normally would turn off the viewfinder and turn on the LCD panel. THat switch could be defective or mechanically not being switched. WIthout opening up the unit, I can not tell specifically. This shouldbe a simple repair for any shop that repairs cameras.

How can I transfer data from DVD to comp

Hello!! (at first, sorry for my english, i speak spanish) Well dear friend, maybe you forgot to do an important step. When you finish your video recording, you have to search in the MENU for "FINALIZE" and click it in your cam's LCD. It's the step for burn your dvd so then you'll be able to see it in your PC and any dvd player. So remember: Menu-Finalize- (it will ask "are you sure")you say YES- then wait for it to burn without moving your cam! and that's it. If that's not your problem try to buy and cable for that cam to transfer the video directly from your cam to the computer. Good Luck!
