Question about Eureka Whirlwind Litespeed 5740 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
Help....belt broke on my Eureka Whirlwind 5740. I have no user's manual and have flipped that baby over but can not for the life of me figure out how to remove the plastic under cover over the brush to change the belt. I can't find any screws or levers to push to remove this plate. Also, I can clearly see where the belt goes on the roller, but can not tell where it will attach to the vacuum (maybe if the cover was off it would be visible, but with it on I can't see it). Can you direct me to any on-line manuals. I have been searching, but to no avail!
Dirty Carpet in St. Louis
I tried the website for manuals but no luck. I called the toll-free # 1-800-282-2886 and got a rep right away. I gave him the model and s/n (lower bottom on the back side) and he walked me thru it. For the model I have, there are 3 screws to remove - With the vacuum upright and standing facing it - there is on on the right and one on the left of the bottom cover and one on the left side near the hose intake. Remove those to get to the belt. I ordered the belt with him too - althought the belts were cheap ($2.99 for 2) the shipping was $8. If this didnt help - call the 800# - they were great.

For Eureka Whirlwind Litespeed
STEP 1: Remove the 2 screws on the top corners (mine were rusted over, a little hard to see)
STEP 2: Pop the top 'lid' (leave hinged in the back)
STEP 3: Remove Belt, Roller & Plastic guide. Keep note of placement of all three before you disassemble.
STEP 4: Reverse instructions. Replace Belt, Roller & Plastic Guide. Close lid (top part) screw together with the 2 screws.
Video Instructions from Eureka website.
The website video section might have other models.
