Is it possible to focus the lenses on the projector? that would solve my problem if this is even possible.

by the way the auto converg. does not solve this problem.

  • luked1964 Dec 08, 2008

the corners are still difficult to read. they look as though the items i want to read are double vision. in the hud of my game there is a map that has letters and pictures the same as a legend in a map, but there is a obvious solid visual with a overlapping opaque visual that is just low and leff, but still connected to the solid visual thus making it difficult to read. is focus the issue?! again the auto config did not solve problem.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, if your TV unit is a HD52W59, it is an RCA 52" Widescreen Projection HDTV. If yes, there should be a focus/screen control assy at the FBT in the main board. Since adjustment would have to be performed on a live set and the FBT is the source of the high voltage, might it be to your advantage to seek the assistance of an experienced TV tech.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Sounds like you have one or more bad LCD panels in the projector. replacement of the panels will fix the problem, but the cost of the panels is around 500.00 each; there are three panels. ------------------------ Pls Service the LCD Panels of the Projector, Also check the Fly-Eye lens, just next to Lamp unit. This will solve your problem. if it's not then the only solution is Replacement of LCD Panels, But Must check or replace the external RGB Cable first befor doing all this exercise.

Turn off the auto convergience and use the advanced menu options to align the red and blue with the grid. Once you are in convergence menu, hit the audio button, this will give you the grid. Start at the center of the screen and work in a clockwise pattern going out one gridline at a time. then switch from red to blue by hitting the video button. Follw the same procedure. Don't do this until the tv has been on for at least a half hour as it needs to be at oprating temp. If it's still wrong then you need to get into the service menu, which I'm still trying to find out how to do.

LG PF80G can not focus the entire image

If the unit is at a strong angle to the screen, you may need to reduce it. With the projector mounted high, the bottom of the screen is further away. The projector focuses the entire image the same and cannot compensate for the difference in distance.

BenQ MP610 lamp focus problem - projection not clear

I just solved this problem. You have to remove the lense and adujst 3 screws. It may be delicate adjustment (about 0,5 to 1mm) but I solved the problem. Was not that easy to remove the lense, access is from the fron after removing the front panel. Cheers.

Hi i am having problems with the projector it was going well for the last year that i have it but up to a week ago i have been getting tiny white dots appearing on the screen from the projector. i have...

Hi,

I noticed you have a DLP projector. I have a Optoma EzPro 756 which is also a DLP projector.
I notice white "blobs" on the screen when there is a black screen. It is caused by dust getting into the optical block not the lense. If you are comfortable with opening up the projector, you could gently blow out the optical area with compressed air, GENTLY so you don't dislodge any components, and see if that helps. I seems to be a common problem with DLP projectors a few years old. If there are sharp focused dots on the screen then most likely, it could be some pixels starting to go bad like dead pixels on a computer screen. That problem is pretty much irreversible.

Hope this helps,

In the middle of my presentation the projector went out of focus, it won't go back to normal.

The focusing on these projectors is mechanical and adjustable from the outer focus ring on the lense assembly externally. There is, apart from damage, nothing to go wrong.

Lens adjust is sticking. With the lense out you

since you have then lens out, get a wide blade flathead and insert it in the smallest part if **** that it will fit into behind the focus ring and turn the blade like you are trying to widen the **** all the way around until it pops out into it's normal position. Getting the entire lens back in properly is a bit tricky since the threads are easily stripped. First screw it all the way back on and then check the focus on the screen. You want to see a crisp image in 3 if not 4 of the outer corners of the screen. It is best to use something with text that fills the whole screen so you can see the 4 corners as you adjust the focus. If the focus is good in the corners, leave it alone. If not, hold the back of the projector in one hand and forcefully push the lens into where you screwed it on and see if it pops into place. It really is trial and error. Once you have a clear picture it is a good idea to remove the top cover and glue all around the base of the tube where it screws on so it doesn't come loose again.

I cannot succeed to focus my lc6231 philips projector

Two possibilities:

1. projector probably too close to the screen
or
2. The focus ring at the end of the lens must be manually turned (hard to find if you don't know it's there).

I just purchased a 3m 9000 series overhead projector. my problem is that i can't get the thing to focus in. is there a certain way to set the lens?

it has a specific projection range. if it's too close to the screen, it won't focus. otherwise, clean the lenses.

Focusing into slide transfer box

Yes, use a shorter projection lens. You didn't say what focal length your projection lens is, but Kodak and many of their OEM vendors made very short focal length lenses.

Convergence problem

We need a better description of what you mean by shadowing. However I am assuming: 1. You mean it ''bleeds'' off to the right when you have something with a hard red/blue drive. 2. When you turn the contrast and color down a bit it gets better. unfortunatly I cannot tell you how to fix convergence, but I can think of some other possibilities. In this case the red/blue emmision of the crt is dying off and going into saturation when driven hard. To fix, replace with a new picture tube/crt. In some cases you can get a little more life out of that tube (with a watchable picture) by having the screen, focus, cathode bias, and drives slightly readjusted. It will take someone with experience in doing these adjustments on a weak tube to get it looking as good as possible. Given the construction of the cathodes (guns) in that crt, only a very low level crt reactivate should be tried on it. The hard rejuv most crt testers give is highly likley to completely destroy the cathode on that crt.
