# Ensure that any locking feature on the DVD player is disabled. # Attempt to open the disc tray. # If the issue is not resolved, turn off the DVD player. # Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 10 minutes. # Plug the power cord back into a functional wall outlet. # Attempt to open the disc tray. # If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons.
You usually don't need to call the company to replace the power cord. Go to Radio Shack or your hardware store and find one that will plug in. By calling the company and getting an OEM replacement you will be paying extra for the name on the package. I have bought a cheap small appliance just for the power cord. A bit of leg work will save you aggravation and money.
Bad caps in the power supply is causing this. C17 (10v,470uf), C17,c14 (10v,1000uf) and C18 (10v,470uf). Replace with same capacitance values but 25 volt rating 85 C. Just fixed mine half hour ago works great.
