Re: since installing office 2007 i cant scan to word
Was this an upgrade from 2003 to 2007? I had several add-ons and components fail when I migrated. I had to completely uninstall and reinstall cleanly to get many features to work. Especially 3rd party integration stuff.

It is not possible to update Ms office 2003 to Ms office2010 directly....
You need to uninstall the existing MS office 2003 and perform a clean install for Ms office 2007 or 2010
Anyhow you can update the service pack for Ms office 2003 online, which will add additional features for existing office package...
You have to install one of them you cant have 2.
When you have installed office 2007
Run windows update for the latest bugs and fixes.
You can also install this free version: http://download.openoffice.org/
if you have excel 2007 you can save the file into excel 2003 compatibility
if you have excel 2003 need download compatibility pack from this page http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en install it and success!
you cant convert back, microsoft made 2003 - now blue. when you updated the update took over 02. by the way you should try to update to 2007 or 2010 when it comes out. there is so much more stuff in 2007.
If you save the files in an Open Office format compatible with Office 2007, people with Office 2003 or older won't be able to read them. Save your documents in an Office 2003 format and they should be able to read them...unless they have Office 98, in which case they should get into the 21st century and update to 2003!
