Question about RCA P46920BL 46" Rear Projection Television

Open Question

RCA P46920BL Unit made cracking noise then very Loud Pop. Unit now just beep...beep...beeps from item on board just behind where RCA plugs for Video and Audio are on rear of TV. Item making beeping noise has sticker on top with PN 15307400, DI 15163210, RXETCE99085 on it. Is this part replacable, something someone other than a Repair Tech should approach, or would the entire board require replacement? Help..

Yeah our tv a 1997 46 RCA P46720BA projection tv went out yesterday. We left it on overnight as we sometimes do and it was off when we woke up. When we clicked the power button the button lights up for a split second and goes off. When we hit the power button we heard a clicking noise like it was trying to turn on for a split second. I know this tv is 11 years old but my father gave this to me a few yrs before he died. So its got sentimental value to it. Any idea who would fix this? Thanks.

SOURCE: RCA ctc 195 series

this tv most likely has a shorted horizontal transistor and transformer. Now that you have a heads up on the problem it's best to contact your local tv rep. John

SOURCE: My Big Screen making a loud beeping noise!

The beeping noise is usually related to the Horizontal out put transistor or flyback being faulty or one of the coils are loose near the flyback. If you remove the rear cover without touching anything can you tell if the beeping is coming from the large transformer with the red wire coming out of the top or is it coming from a black transistor on a aluminum heat sink.

SOURCE: RCA P46920 TV will not turn on, it makes a beeping noise.

Shorted horizontial output transistor q14401 -I think- and bad flyback transformer(high voltage transformer). The noise is the power supply starting and shutting down very quickly because of the shorted transistor.Very common problem, but some of the flybacks are no longer available from RCA.Sometimes you can use generic but questionable life on some of these.

Most times when a unit beeps, it is presenting an error code. You must refer to the tech sheet, which is usually located inside the unit. It sounds like a control board issue.

Dell loud fan noise

Is the computer completing post? This is indicated normally by a single beep after the power button is turned on. On most computers the beep is proceeded by a post screen with the manufactures logo. If the computer is not getting this far, unplug everything but the memory and video. This should cause the computer to give a no hard drive or OS error. If not pull all the memory, this should cause the computer to give a series of beeps (because there is no memory installed). If this does not work either, you could have a bad mother board or power supply.

Hope this helps

Beeping noise

I've had the Dell 1720dn at my desk for years. Worked flawlessly. Moved it to a different workstation and it began beeping immediately while printing. Another site said to plug it directly into the wall, instead of a battery backup. I unplugged it from the battery backup outlet, and plugged into a surge protector only outlet on the same battery backup unit.... NO MORE BEEPING. Hope this helps someone else.

You should open the service panel and to find out where does the "beeping" unit located and to remove one of the wires connected to it (the unplugged wire should be insulated). Good luck!

No Power and beeping noise in circuitry

had a 51" rca rear projection donated to myself. While off and power button pressed there was a clicking noise from the front of the unit. Rear cover was removed and it could be observed that the hv splitter had a crack in the casing and the power was arcing out of the splitter. I purchased a $72 dollar hv splitter, i read that the $20-$30 dollar one would break within a year, and the unit powered up no problems.
