Question about Compaq Presario Notebook

1 Answer

104 ERROR-UNSUPPORTED WIRELESS DEVICE

At start up, it beeps twice where it says Compaq, then it goes to a screen where it says continue , or setup . If you hit continue the 104 error comes up, and if you hit setup it takes you to a screen where you can change booting orders, and disable LAN, and other various things. I don't have a device to remove from it that I know of.

try just leaving the computer to load and not pressing anything, if nothing...wait about 10 mins and if still nothing take it to a computer fixing place. It might be that ur computer is booting from the disc drive and there is nothing in there, this can be changed from the BIOS that comes up if u hit F10 :D

When i open my compaq v3000,suddenly has "104 unsupported wireless network device detected. system halted. remove device and restart" i can't make anything.please

I found a few issues that this could stem from, though the more often occuring was from an upgrade performed on the laptop. Please refer to http://www.richud.com/HP-Pavilion-104-Bios-Fix/ for a walk through on repairing the problem.

And when you did that, did the system then work? If it did you may have a faulty WiFi card or an incompatible driver.

try the driver for the PRIOR version of Windows, usually it will work. The driver for 98SE/2000/ etc. may be your fix!

Hp dv2000 error code 104- unsupported wireless network device detected system halted

The user has not described the operating system in use.
However this problem generally occurs due to incompartible hardware. in this case it is ever stated. ie. Network interface Device. I suggest you disconnect the Network devices including cables, then try to reboot.
If not descibe how far the booting process gets and type of network hardware connected and operating system to your system
