Question about Toshiba TDP-MT500 Multimedia Projector

Blinking red lamp light

What does the Blinking red lamp light mean? Also, the projector is loud. The manual said on rare occasions the color wheel spins at a high rate of speed causing a metal scraping sound. Is there any way to fix this?

Re: Blinking red lamp light

Blinking red light normally only occurs when lamp needs replacing. one thing to try other than replacing the lamp is resetting the lamp used hours timer (page 33), and if this solves the flashing light you may get some more hours out of your bulb The wheel noise is supposed to be normal and an element of the design - don't think they thought that one through too well. Saying that, if it is all the time and painfully loud then something (possibly the bearing or the housing that the bearing sits in) needs bending back or replacing - toshiba do not suggest any long term solution to the problem at all. Hope this helps please bother toshiba about this, and it may help stop them selling unfinished designs. We must all fight for a better future etc. etc. etc. ;) Hope this helps :)

Mitsu hc3000 problem "red-green status light blinking and no input"

Heres what the manual says about REd / green lights

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and contact your dealer

And also this:

Check that the lens cap is removed.
It may take about one minute for the lamp to light up.
The lamp fails to light up on rare occasions. In such a case, wait for a few minutes
and then try again.
If the projector was turned off before the lamp was cooled down suf? ciently last time,
the fan may start rotating and the POWER button may not work after the power cord
is plugged. After the fan stops rotating, press the POWER button to turn back on the
POWER indicator.
Check that the intake vent is clean.
Set SCART INPUT in the FEATURE menu to OFF. (See page 25.)
Check that the lamp cover is closed. (See page 33.)
Check that the cables connected to the external devices are not broken.
When an extension cable is being used, replace it with the supplied cable for check. When
images are displayed correctly, add an RGB signal ampli? er to the extension cable.
Check the operation manual of the video device for its connection.

A power cut whilst the projector being used, caused power light to blink red, now the projector doesn't turn on

it could be the fan, colorwheel or high temp. remove the lamp and turn it on. do the fans spin? if not, replace the fans. does the colorwheel (colored glass wheel near the lamp) spin? you should be able to see it and hear a high-pitched whir. if not, replace the colorwheel. if the lamp was still hot when it was turned off, you need to let the fans run and cool. then unplug it, plug it back in and try again.

Anyone having problems with excessive noise that seems to come from the color wheel area? Sounds like bearing picture looks OK. Moving the projector just a little can cause the winding to come back.

The color wheel spins at a high rate of speed like a cooling fan...Since the total light output from the lamp is focused on the small aperture that contains the wheel, a huge amount of heat is generated...the motor could have expanded due to heat and be binding, causing the noise. The only way to fix this problem is to have the color wheel replaced. A service center is your best bet. Is the unit under any kind of warranty?---Rick

Red LED is blinking once. I took the bulb housing out and it looks as though the color wheel is not sitting in the correct position. Is the centre spindle of the wheel supposed to be sitting in the middle...

the light is supposed to shine only through the glass and not the hub. and even then it goes through a small light tunnel thinner than the width of that side of the wheel. if the wheel is not spinning at all, it needs replacing. remove the lamp but use a screwdriver to push in and activate the door switch. hold it there, turn the projector on, and watch the wheel. if it spins, you have another issue.

I turn on the 4805,green led blinks & bulb does not come on?

After a few minuets does the green blinking light turn to a red blinking light?

If so the problem is the lamp did not strike.Either the lamp has failed (most likely) or there is a problem with the power supply (less likely)

Infocus 4805 blinking red light problem

My first questions is:

Is this the first lamp you have placed into your Infocus pj? If not, did you reset the hours when you did it last time? Otherwise that can also confuse the projectors internal system thinking there is NOT a new lamp in there and there for make it stop working once the clock hours are expired and over the 3000-6000 suggested hour life.

Let me know so I can help trouble shoot other possible problems.
