Check for blown fuse if good put a light tester on the starting then turn the key if your tester lights up then you know that the stater is bab if it does not then you do not have power to the shotch. One red wire should have power all the time and the other red wire should have power only when the key is on.
According to my data, you'll need a Briggs and Stratton Part No. 692051 for that machine. Cross reference to Champion Plug RC12YC. Note that this plug shows a recommended gap of only .020, as opposed to the .030, most Briggs plugs use. Best of luck to you.
