Question about CD & DVD Burners
I just bought a new 50 pk of Sony CD-R disks and none of them are recognized by Windows Media Player. Why? i have an lg cd-rw, sometime ago it stopped recognizing blank cd's. i used an antivirus software on it and it solved the problem. Recently the problem resurfaced, i tried to remove it like before, no luck. I formatted the hdd and reinstalled windows, still no luck. i changed the ide cable & it didn't work. i am confused because i also have a samsung cd-r on the same computer & it will also not acknowledge the presence of the empty cd. i use nero 8 burner.
Ok people. First it would be an idea to use a CD/DVD lens cleaner, and try again. If you are running any 3rd party software/drivers like deamon tools, uninstall them and try again.
I have used Nero 6, 7 and I now use 8. I run XP SP3 on my desktop, and Vista SP1 on my laptop, and I have never found this problem with Nero.
You may need to uninstall the drive and re-install it. Also update the firmware for the drive.
Also, could you tell me what LG CD/RW you are using, please
