Question about LG RU-44SZ61 44" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

5 Answers

Lg-ru44sz63d The TV begins to start up the light goes from red to yellow and flashes several times before shutting down. There are no wierd noises, the TV sounds like its starting up but just does not do it. After five to seven attempts to start it will start and run fine for as long as it is on. The next time you start the TV it may work fine or not start, very inconsistent. Help please. (it is a 44 inch DLP rear projection set.)

My problem is exactly the same ase those described. I checked the lamp life and it is showing 6800 hrs. SO I guess the light is getting old. What would be the part number for a new lamp?

My TV does the same thing. Red light to yellow, blinks several times but never turns on. Lamp was replaced last year and the TV is 3 years old. Any ideas?

I was told that you cannot take the bulb out to shake it and return it with your hand because the oil from your hand should not get on the bulb. I was told to wear a glove.

Same thing happened with mine, I unplugged it and plugged in back in and now it works - hopefully for a little while longer

I have been having the same issue with mine. After reading this solution, I tried just this... I pulled out the bulb holder (with bulb) and shook it. Once I put it back in it worked. My LG is not quite 3 years old but I first had this issue about 7 months in with increased frequency of the problem.

I just had the same problem with mine. I figured the bulb was getting old. I was understandably reluctant to drop $200 for a new bulb, so just to be sure, I unplugged it and replugged it and it was back to normal. Hope your solution is that simple.

Have you ever replaced the lamp in it? It sounds like a lamp that is on its way out. Sometimes taking the lamp out and shaking it a bit will fix it temporarily as it redistributes the mecury in it.

For the last few weeks, my 5 year old LG 2487HRMA, has been giving me de code errors shortly after starting. It is because the lock light just goes from red to off for no reason.

Lift up the top of your washer and there will be a code and test sheet in there that will help lead you to fixing that problem, almost sounds like it went into the its own test mode.

Above are links for your service manual, and a training manual. This is a classic switchmode power supply, shutting down to avoid a fire, explosion, or both. This set had developed a problem, that is so severe that the set must be shut down, This set should be removed from the Power, and in my professional recommendation, you should get a "Quote" for repair, from, an Akai, Approved Service Center, this point is very important for a good result, Always contact, their local, "Head Office" Now, when you get the information you want, then you can decide as to repair of replacement. The reason we want an approved agent, is that way, all the engineers are trained on their own brand sets, they have seen almost all faults, and will get the job done quicker, and for less cost, and usually have parts on hand, also sometimes, there has been a service bulletin in issued and the repair may be subsided or even free.

Most likely the lamp is dying. Try replacing the lamp before calling a repair tech. What does the Owners manual say about the blink lights?

Wii standby light

To be precise, you can turn this option off from the Wii System settings -> Wii Connect 24 -> standby connection -> off

When this setting is swiched to off, your console shuts down entirely and there is a RED light on the power button. There will be no need to turn off the console pressing the power button.

I have a LG RU-44SZ61D DLP TV and recently replaced the bulb. After about two months the TV went really dim and then started shutting off. The problem increased to the point where you couldnt have the tv...

DLPs have flow chart trouble shooting techniques to pinpoint exactly why your set isnt completeing the boot sequence. If you would like the service manual for your model let me know and i will post a link where you can purchase a complete one.

Depending on what light is flashing it could be a few things. If the Lamp light (the middle one) is flashing that is problem with or around the lamp. That orange or amber light is an indication that the lamp is reaching the end of its life

If it is the Temperature light (the far right one) then the TV is shutting down because it is over heating and you need to check the cooling fan.
