Hi,

welcome to Fixya,

think the is that your PC system cannot detect your hard disk.

try to determine if your hard disk is detected. in booting process please press F2 or Delete tab. in the booting process see your hdd is detected.

if not, check the power supply and IDE connector if it is connected properly. and you can also check the hdd in holding by bare hand ontop. not in the lower case with electronic parts. if it is running. with no sound of mechanical problem. check the IDE or SATA cable. try to fix it that really fit to every slots.

if your hdd is detected then, you have too many start up programs. you can restore it, by pressing F8 during boot process.

restart to the last known or safe mode and

run on safe mode, make opening of documents and etc..

Hello,

maybe you are infected with virus causing your system to restart. sometime this also causes by hardware conflict. if you can boot in safemode then you can fix this by uninstalling the unwanted softwares and hardware. but most of all if you are not infected with virus to repair the installation of your windows. but if you are infected still you need to back up important files and then format and reinstall the windows..you can find notes on installing window by going to google and then find " installing windows"

may this help,

before you do that, try in first boot press F8 to select boot menu and try booting your computer at last known good configuration. hope this success. if not back to above solution.

Disconnect all peripherals, except keyboard, mouse and monitor. Try to start the machine in safe mode and if it comes up okay, then try to restart it into normal windows. If the problem continues, remove all but one stick of ram, and try again. if it happens again, change out the stick of ram with one of the other ones. IF this fails, and the problem still exists, try to boot from a usb drive. If it boots normally then you may have a problem in windows, and that may need a re-install.

You cant change the SMPS of this computer as it is built on big PCB and not a regular SMPS box. Then it has a supply for monitor too. And it is not required.
Clean your RAM & reinsert it and re-install Win XP after low formating the drive. It will definately work
And 'Intele', this is a useless, non upgradable & and non-repairable system and to upgrade it with PIII 700MHz CPU you got to add a small resistance to it which onl6y the dealer can do it for you.
Now a days there are lots of used branded P4 systems available in the market - 'dirt cheap'. Dell Optiplex GX280 is one of the good option with P4 3.20GHz pinless (LGA775) CPU, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA drive with Dell usb Keyboard & mouse. Prevailing market price is app. Rs. 7000/- Add Rs. 2000/- for 17" used multimedia monitor.
You can compare all this with Intel Dot Station.
To reach the motherboard of Intel Dot Station one has to unscrew 32 screws. Its so complicated. Spares are not available - then why buy P-III these days?If you are in New Delhi, go & buy from Nehru Place.

Problem with pc

You probably need to check the cooling fan setup ( some motherboards give the control on the task manager or a sperate software to control it) This seems to be a problem of overheating which might have started after the installation of new ram.

Hi shameer123,

The above scenario confirms board failure. This is due to wear and tear which we cannot prevent.

I believe it is time to replace with other P4 478 chipset board available in your country.

Intel Original Motherboard 946 with duel core processor.

Hi,
As you said the system is restarting because of power section problem.
Try to change SMPS and see the difference. Even though if it fail.
Try using single ram if problem repeat change with other ram.
Else
Load bios defaults.

If Not Ok

Contact Intel Support:

With your bill No, Serial No & model no.

or you can mail to: apacsupport@mailbox.intel.com

Hope this will work...

Bye..
