Question about HP iPAQ H6340 Pocket PC

Microphone not working

Hi All, I'm getting pretty hacked off with the 6340 I bought recently off ebay. The microphone doesn't seem to work. If I try recording it is silent and in phone mode, the mute/unmute button on the bottom is greyed out as if the microphone is not installed. There doesn't appear to be anything in the settings to switch the mic on or off. I bought this to use as a mobile phone and without the mic working it is more or less useless.I would really appreciate any help from anyone. Regards peter3696

Re: microphone not working

You should try a ROM upgrade. THis problem may have occured if you have a corrupted ROM memory. If for my first choice.. hmm.. It isn't hardware, in my opinion. Try the ROM update first. Save all your important data (no back-up) only save the files to the computer, then have the PDA's battery fully charged, make an active sync connection using USB sync cable (bluetooth, or IR woun't work) and open the ROM update file. For a ROM update, use the oficial HP ROM versions. Here is a link to the wm2003 version. It is the only one that HP distributes free of any charges. Folow the instructions carefully. In that list select and download : HP iPAQ h6300 Pocket PC Series ROM Update (English Languages Support Only) Good luck, fell free to ask any other question about this process or others and always remember to rate solutions. :)

Microphone does not work

with referance to your problem it seems like it can be look in two ways , first by software and then by Hardware ,

First Check if microphone is not muted inside from the phone , means in its software ,

Then below is the picture where you can find the blue box shows that their is button for microphone to turn on / off during calls,

If these steps not help then , it meght be possible your microphone is defective and you have to change your microphone.

try registering your device and then sync it.if that dont work you can restore your phone to its factory settings .to do that i recommend going to samsung blackjack hacks and study it .there is alot of helpful info at this site.down load a free registry editor and the results are pretty careful to follow the directions to a could brick your phone....other wise take it back and get another one where you bought that one and start from scratch.

Blackberry took a swim-- Microphone out of commission. Anyone completed a self repair?

Thank you, cellphoneer. The one that describes how to replace the screen is the closest they come to talking about the mic. However, it should provide enough info to get the job done. Here is a direct link:

Dropped calls

Check out the following links for troubleshooting: I would also call verizon and have them go over a few settings to ensure that you have the proper settings for your area. Did you dial *228 and then choose option 1 or 2? do both. You might want to wipe the unit clean with the blackberry software, and reactivate again.

When charger is plugged, amber light blinks once and then nothing? E125 not working at all!

The Casio PDAs will quit charging very quickly if the battery is very, very discharged. If you continue to remove and re-insert the charger into the PDA's power socket, the recharging cycle will last longer and longer until finally the stupid thing will fully recharge its battery.

I have two Casio PDA's and three batteries that were recovered after a bit of tedious struggle to force the charging cycle to complete.

Sony Clie sj33 battery

If you haven't already done so. Try resetting PDA in back, if that doesn't work go back to battery and verify connections are correct and check connection wires (they may be frayed or damaged). I'm not sure that will solve the problem, but it worths a shot.

Buttons not working properly

So first try a hard reset. If that doesn't work try removing battery for at least 2 hours or overnight if possible.
