Question about HP LaserJet 2420 Printer
Hi, I have an HP Laserjat 2300 that i use to make circtuit boards, recently i have noticed that there are spots in the middle of the images that are thin, but the outline are solid. I have noticed this kind of thing in an inkjet printer before, and fixed it by cleaning the print heads, is there any way that i can clean the head on this printer? Thank you in advance
The problem you are having is either the cartridge or fusing assembly. One or the other will need to be replaced. There isn't a head cleaning function on this laserjet like inkjets. Here's how you can tell which it is. If the image is ghost repeating, measure the distance from the first occurance on the page to the place (ghosting) it appears again. Here are the most common spacings.
Measurements are Aproximate
75mm or 2-15/16th" = Fuser (replace fusing assembly)
94mm or 3-11/16th" = Cartridge Drum (replace toner cartridge)
38mm 0r 1-1/2" = Cartridge Primary Charge Roller (replace toner cartridge)
Hope the above helps you. If so please rate my answer with a FIXYA. If not send me more info and I help you further. Thanks.
