Stupid padlock/main menu keeps opening and closing DELLe152fp

That is the OSD (On Screen Display) system built-in to your computer monitor. Check that when you hit the ON/OFF button on your monitor, that you do *NOT* hit the 'OSD ON/OFF' button.

Most of the time, the OSD will disappear after 10 seconds of "non-use".

The monitor keeps displaying the menu box randomly in the centre of the screen and I can't stop it from appearing. Can anyone help please?

10% chance it is the button of the menu stitch. Can you tap the monitor on the front, sides or corners without moving it or the cable and make it go into Menu?

80% I'm guessing you have a broken but occasionally touching connection wire in the video cable. Take it off (both ends) and go to Micro Center or PC World and get a replacement. This is an odd problem...

Menu box keeps popping up on screen

Same problem here. I've had this monitor almost two years with no problem until this morning when it started flashing the menu screen and nothing I do will make it stop. Oh well, it was only a hundred dollars. I guess this is emachine's way of saying, "you got your money's worth, now throw this piece of junk away and get another", lol. And therein lies the solution! :)

hi,

It is possible that menu button on the monitor is stuck. I suggest to call your computer manufacturer where you purchased the monitor, check for the warranty and request for a replacement.

Keep me posted.

Thanks
