Question about Motorola Mobility Q9m Smartphone

1 Answer

Copy list of contacts to simm card, delete Active Sync from phone

I lost all power to my previous Q-9 phone and lost all of my business contacts. I don't know how to save them to my computer, and I just want to save them to the storage chip in my phone so if it goes dead again I still have record of them somewhere.

Go into file explorer:

go to my device

copy the file called (pim)

paste it in the storage card folder -

if your phone is ever wiped, that file contains the entire phonebook - and its copied on your storage card.

Copy Contacts from Palm Centro to SIM Card

When I migrated from my Palm Centro (best smartphone ever) to my current BlackBerry, I did the following: 1) Export Palm contacts from the Palm Desktop software to CSV (comma separated values or tab-delimited text) format. 2) Import the CSV file to your Google Contacts account. 3) Wirelessly sync Google Contacts to your new phone using the free Google Sync app (link below). 4) Verify data was transferred appropriately.
Google Sync details: http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
You should be able to follow the same process for your Palm Calendar by exporting your Palm Calendar from the Palm Desktop software to a file (save the exported file to your desktop, or an easy to find location on your computer), then import the Calendar file into a NEW Google Calendar, not your primary calendar (in case there's conflicts or problems, you can delete the secondary Google calendar without losing your primary Google calendar items). Google Sync should allow you to choose more than one Google Calendar to sync with your new phone.

I would like to copy all the contacts which are there in phone to memory card which iam getting difficulty in my htc touch phone

the easiest way is to sync your phone with your computer, all the contacts from the phone will be copied to outlook contact list, if you dont use outlook, you can use it as a storage medium anyway.

Unable to sync contacts from outlook to htc diamond

Hi. In the sync options, there should be a couple of different options such as selecting either the phone or the outlook for the master of the contacts. So if you can change the option to copy contacts from outlook to phone (should be reverse in order to continously backup phone data) I think that tick will be seen when you got all your contacts to your phone. Hope this helps.

Sync is currently experiencing problems

I had the same problem and resolved it next way. First backed up all my contacts on G1 with myBackup, then deleted all my contacts on Google from laptop. Autosync all the time was on, so all contacts was deleted from my G1 also. After that I restarted the phone, and restored my contacts with myBackup. When my G1 tried to sync it asked me what to do, because it have too many items to delete (from "All contacts" category on Google). I've chose "delete". You may try other choice. After few minutes I've had exact all my contacts from G1 on Google no less, no more, and no sync error. Remember: just in case, backup all your contacts on G1 or Google before deleting them, to prevent them from beeing lost!! Good luck.

Unable to sync

Usually rebooting the phone will cure this, I presume you have switched the phone off, removed the battery and restarted?

make sure in
File--> connection settings
that usb and the port you have assigned to bluetooth is enabled
(all tick boxes checked)

try deleting the device from active sync
File--> Mobile device --> (select your device)
then go to
File --> Delete mobile device
make sure you have copies of any un-synced data as it may be lost but shouldn't.

If I remember rightly (dont have a touch to hand) also delete the link to the pc in the active sync window on the touch
Menu--> options (select the server name) Menu-->Delete

and re create the profile by plugging in the device.

Delete

If you deleted it, I am pretty sure that you deleted it. If you added it into your storage card, you need to view your files using your phone or better yet use active sync and explore phone... there you can see all the files off your phone or memory card.

Lost information

If they were stored on a removable card, then a file-scavenger might be able to restore them.

Otherwise im afraid they're gone for good.
