Some gteneric carts can cause problems if they have been recycled many times before, use originals or maybe try ink2u.co.uk where I get mine from.

Keeps saying install c


Hello,

When the printer says "install C" it is referring to the Cyan (blue) ink cartridge. If this is not a new cartridge, you might have to replace it. If this is a new cartridge, try following these steps.

1. Unplug the power cable.
2. Remove all 4 ink cartridges.
3. Close the ink cover
4. Plug the power back in.
5. Wait for the machine to warm up and tell you that the ink is empty.
6. Reinsert all 4 ink cartridges.

If you keep getting the same message you should try another cartridge. You can put the yellow cartridge in the blue spot to see if you get the same message. If you get the same message then the machine is broken. If you get a new message then the cyan cartridge needs to be changed.

Office jet 5510 keeps saying wrong black cartridge.


Look on the right side where the cartridge goes, if the spring on the right is hanging loose it might have poked a hole in the ribbon cable at the rear near the contacts. If so it's time for a new printer, if OK, check the exp. date on the ink cartridge and if it's been refilled or a generic ink you may just need another one.

The window says that the wrong ink cartridge is installed and when I remove it and replace it it says remove and replace cartridge. I have put 2 new cartridges in and they are the right ones. It will not...


sometimes when replacing ink cartridges some idiot that filled them to begin with doesnt reset the calibration they just shove the ink in and box em up!!
its not your printer its who you bought the ink from

Unplug the printer. Plug it again and install the cartridge. If the message is stil present, try to install a new original. cartridge.

Printer keeps saying "INSTALL BLACK CARTRIDGE".


If you are using Windows.
Go into "Start", "Printers and Faxes".
Right click on the printer icon.
Click properties.
Look for reset cartridge.
Or something similar.
That should fix the problem.

When inserting a new cartridge, you may receive a prompt

"The installed ink cartridge differs from the original ink cartridge for the printer. Your printouts may be different from those printed using original ink cartridges. Do you want to continue using the currently installed ink cartridge?"

If you click Yes, printing will continue. If you select No, you will be prompted to change the cartridge. Manufacturer prompts may vary.

Have changed cartridges now it keeps saying check ink the cartridges are new and have been installed correctly


you might want to reset the whole unit, if you correctly install the right ink this should work perfectly
