GE Profile refriderator not cooling

We replaced our GE Profile TFHW22RR fridge and had it moved to our garage. The fridge was working fine before moving it. The fridge sounded like it was running pretty continuos for 24+ hours, but we thought it was just getting cooled again. We were primarily just using the freezer. After a few days, we realized things were not fully frozen. It sounded like the cooler was running most of the time. We ended up having to throw everything out because it was just keeping the frozen foods cold and not frozen. I took the inside panel off tonight....there were 3 cooling panels - the bottom one had a small amount of frost on it, but the top 2 didn't have anything on it. There are wires on each side that look like they are connecting the cooling panels with clear plastic covers over the connectors....the plastic connector covers on both sides of the bottom panel looked like there was some black on the inside like an electrical problem. I pulled the back panel on the bottom off (cardboard panel). The fan just inside the panel is not running - a retired technician I know told me it should be running and thought some insulation or something may have got in it....but there was nothing causing an issue with the fan turning when I manually turned it. Does this sound like it would be worth fixing or have fixed?

The refrigerator have a heater that melts the ice about every 15 to 20 minutes, when it does not work the ice will build up and will not freeze your foods, that's why you found ice at the bottom. you can test it by plugging in the frige again, and you will see that it will work for another 24 to 40 hours again and do the same thing again. the heater is bad. it cost about $35.00. plus service call. but you can replace your self.fron 1 to 10 is a 9 that you can do it.

Base from the description that you have said , this ref is still worth fixing but the cost of its repair will be not that small so I suggest you just get a new one instead.....

How can I fix my fridge?

think twice. You replace this, but it still is a 14 year old fridge. Next week something else can go down. The newer ones use less power to cool the same amount.
Buy a new one, you have warranty, and in its lifetime it will save you money on the electricity bills.

GE Profile refriderator PSC25MSWA is frosting/icing on bottom of Refriderator side

Try defrosting entire unit. Put all food, freezer and refrigerator sides in coolers with ice. Unplug unit and wait at least 24 hours for unit to completely defrost, if neccessary open doors, plug unit back in and see how unit functions. By doing this lines that carry freon should become unclogged.

I have a ge profile psc23nhpa refriderator that the fridge side of the unit temperature shoot up to 135 over night. But the freezer side was still very cool. What could cause this?

Are you sure it is 135? If the freezer is cold but the fridge is warm, most likely is the damper door problem. (Basically, it's a door controlled by the main board, get cold air from freezer and close when the fridge is cold enough)

GE Profile - fridge not cooling

If freezer is icing up, you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

Moved refrigerator. Won't get cold now unless at 9.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.
