the problem may come from the hard drive which means that it may have a virus like a computer or that the hardrive may have a malfuntion and cant be able to read to the xbox 360 so it is considered to buy a new hardrive and recover your profile/ enter xbox.com to get all the downloads that was on the last hard drive
Most likely you are going to need to buy an external hard drive enclosure. Take out the hard drive put it in the hard drive enclosure then in windows format the drive with fat32 format. This should solve your problem, if not you may need a new drive. Thank you, Lee
Sounds like there are bad sectors on the hard drive. Try quick formatting the hard drive and see if it goes all the way thru, if it does then try saving games on it and reloading the saved games, if it does then the hard drive is good. If it doesnt then the hard drive is bad. If you can't get the hard drive to format then that means the hard drive is bad and you would need to replace it.
Your problem may be more widespread than just that one file. The file system on your hard drive may be corrupt. You can try to reformat the entire hard drive in an attempt to remove all the errors in the PS3 data, or you can buy a new hard drive. You may have to replace the hard drive if the hard drive is failing, and therefore not reading or writing data properly.
To reformat the drive, in the PS3 menu: NOTE: This will erase everything you saved on the hard drive.
1) Go to the Settings menu, then select System Settings. 2) Select Format Utility, then select Format Hard Disk. 3) Select Quick Format
replace the Hard Drive, buy any 2.5 inch notebook hard drive that has a
serial ATA connection. Then remove the old hard drive from the left
side of the PS3 and install the new hard drive.
After installing the new Hard Drive you will need to format the drive. When you turn on the PS3, you will see onscreen instructions to help you with this.

that works is t physically remove the external hard drive but, having
to do that is a bunch of bull you cant use your profile and you cant go
online with out it. we spend so much money on something that is suppose
to work and fails. it makes me want to go back to playstation 3 and
forget that there ever was an xbox, because micro soft is not willing
to do anything to correct the problem.
