Did you do the Setup when you first started it? by holding the red button and following prompts? (to set up Language, date etc.) - if not try that. if yes, have you tried recharging it? Mine takes about 7 or 8 hours to fully charge (the red light will come on then when fully charged that light goes out) - it appears you have Ultra HD like me, so you should also be able to try some regular AA batteries in place of your rechargeable just to try that. If it works then, it is your rechargeable battery pack - either no good or needs charge. also when plugged into USB that red light should come on on front of the camera and if you look at the screen it should show a battery icon with a lightning bolt over it, shows the battery -how much charged. after 6 or so hours, press your red button and look at the screen - it now should be showing a battery icon that should by now be mostly Green and almost fully charged.
While charging the unit, Flipshare software comes up on your computer, "X" out of that software, so your camera will charge faster. My camera was doing similar things but I've had it a long time, and regular batteries worked, So I ordered a new battery pack and it has been fine since. Good Luck!!!

There is something wrong with my Nikon D3000. It turns on but doesn't show anything on the screen and when I look through the lens it's shows a grainy dark film. It can't be the lense because I...

There seems to be two separate issues here. I'm going to assume you have a charged battery pack in the camera.

First, the screen. Turn the camera on. Do you see the menu when you press the MENU button? Does the shooting info show when you press the Info button? Can you see previously taken photos when you press the Playback button? If none of those show up then something is wrong with the screen (or the battery is dead).

Second, the viewfinder. First, make sure the viewfinder in the back is clean. Now turn the camera on and look through the viewfinder. Do you see the eleven focus marks? Do you see the info at the bottom? Now turn the camera off and remove the lens. Don't touch anything inside the camera! Do you see a mirror at a 45-degree angle? Is it clean? Look at the focusing screen above the mirror. Is it clean? Now look through the viewfinder and point the camera out a window. Do you see a more-or-less white blob, or the same grainy dark film?

Hello ..Yes please make sure your batteries are fully charged..If battery is charged and still shuts down..There is a good chance lens was hit or bumped. When lenses are bumped the camera will try to extend lens upon power up as part of cycle. If camera detect problem with lens not opening..Then it will shut down...

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. 4. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. Camera won't turn on.

Make sure the battery contacts are clean. The rechargable batteries looses their charge even when they are not in use. It is important to fully charge the first time the rechargable batteries.
