Unable to Communicate with Calculator Error?

Every time I attempt to download an app, program, game, etc., I get this error. Obviously, every thing is plugged in, my calc is on. When I first had it, it worked fine. But, I had to do an app, program etc. wipe because of other problems. I was able to put on a few apps after that, but now I can't put on anything. Using vista 32 bit, I've heard there were compatibility problems with it. I've done reinstalls, reboots, USB driver updates, but to no avail.

Well i have the same problem, but see, if that happens, wats wrong is that your calculators usb drive on top of it is busted or the cable is busted, or its an application on your computer that messing up the communication. Allright, try connecting with a buddy. bring 2 calculators and 2 cables. try the two calculators together, if it works, your software is messing up the communication. If it doesn't work, try ussing the other cable, to connect both the calculators, if that works, its your cable, if not, buy a new calc. Srry!

My ti-83 plus just reset itself and i lost all my important programs. Is there any way that i can get them back onto my calculator?

Yes. Go to education.ti.com. Click the Download>>Software and Apps>>TI83/84Plus Family. You will find all the applications you lost and some others too.
Download what you want on your computer. Then use thye TI connect software to transfer the apps on the calculator. You need the TI USB Silver Link cable. If you do not have a Silver Link cable but have the Black Graphlink cable, you need the Graphlink software.
All these softwares are available on the TI site under Connectivity software.

Alternatively you can transfer them from a working calculator. For this you need a calc-to-calc I/O cable.

Restore apps to TI-84 Plus

Hello,
I am always happy to polish the apple...before I eat it. (Just joking!)

All the applications that were preloaded on your calculators are available to download freely from http://education.ti.com Use the tab Download--> Apps and software. Then select software for the TI83/TI84 Family. While you are at the site download the TI Connect, if you do not have it already. The link follows.
http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_ti_connect.html You can also download the latest OS there. (Beware: while applications and programs are compatible with the TI83 and 84, the Operating systems are not.)

Install TI connect on your computer and run it to open the main Window. Then connect you calculator to a USB port and, in the TIConnect main window Click the TIDeviceInfo icon. Software will try to retrieve the info. If it does your calculator is ready to communicate with the computer.

If it tells you Device Not found , Click communication settings in same pop up window where it said Not found, and Select Device, Select Cable (USB or TIsilver cable), Select Port (USB1) and Click OK..

If you are lucky and it works, you can reinstall the OS, which can be downloaded from education.ti.com. You drag and drop the OS on the TIconnect main window. Calculator must of course be connected to computer. To install an application already downloaded to your computer, drag it to the main window of TI Connect and drop it. Keep installing, the appilcations you want.

If you have problem with TIconnect, use the calc-to-calc cable to transfer the Apps from a working calculator. You should be on Receive mode [2nd][Link] --->>Receive. (When both calculators are ready hit enter.) The other calculator must be set to Send [2nd][Link][SEND][C:Apps]. A list of Apps appears. Scroll down the list. If you want to transmit un app you press [ENTER] when the arrow reaches its line. Once an app is selected , a small square appears on the left. After the selection, Hit transmit. I suggest you transfer Apps, one after the other. Avoid selecting them all and send them all at one go.

If you want to transfer the OS of a working calculator the sending calculator must be on [2nd][Link][SEND][SendOS]. TI83Plus OS is not compatible with TI84Plus nor TI84PLUS Silver edition OS.

In addition to the preloaded applications, you can also transfer programs the same way. For a repository of TI83PLUS/TI84PLUS and TI84+ SE, go to www.ticalc.org (or com), visit the archive section of the site.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

All the applications that were preloaded in your calculator are available to download freely from http://education.ti.com. Here you get the TI connect software.
http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_ti_connect.html

Install TI connect on your computer and run it to open the main window. Then connect your calculator to a USB port and, in the TIConnect main window Click the TIDeviceInfo icon.

If you establish connection between calculator and computer , you drag and drop the program or application on the TIconnect main window. You let it install till the end.

If you do not have enough space in the memory you will have to remove some apps or programs to make room. You can also backup all the content of the calculator before erasing apps to make room.

If you have problem with TIconnect, use the calc-to-calc cable to transfer the Apps on a working calculator. Yous should be on Receive mode [2nd][Link] --->>Receive. (When both calculators are ready hit enter.) The other calculator must be on Send [2nd][Link][SEND][C:Apps]. A list of Apps appears. Scroll down the list. If you want to transmit un app you press [ENTER] when the arrow reaches its line. Once an app is selected , a small square appears on the left. After the selection, Hit transmit. How do i manualy program games to my ti-83 plus calculator

Hello,
Programs in general can be typed in the calculator [PGRM] --> [EXEC] [EDIT] [NEW]
[EXEC] : to execute a program already in the calculator
[EDIT] :to modify an existing program (open a program you select and allows you to modify it)
[NEW] : opens a fresh page where you can enter the name you give your program, then enter the instructions you want it to execute when it runs.

You can also transfer games that are on another calculator via a calc-to-calc cable, or use the TIconnect software to transfer TI83 games from your computer to the calculator. If you need instructions on how to transfer files post a request here and someone will be happy to show you how.

Hope it helps.

Can you delete ram with ti connect?

This is your question which I think is the solution for this question!

I downloaded Mirage OS, and now I can't download any of the games. I downloaded tetris before, and then I came back and can't download anything through TI connect.

Obviously, at times ti connect is going to be worthless to you if you have OS Mirage. So, that's correct! Plus, it didn't cost me a calculator to find that out!

For you to get it off? I can think of a few, I glad I don't have too..

Cant play games on calc

This probably is not a problem with your calculator. A syntax error is caused by the program you are running. It just means that the game you have downloaded has a bug in the code and is unplayable. Check out TiCalc.org for a lot of working games and programs.

Ti-83 Plus weird display problem (detail included)

Warning the following tip will erase apps and programs from calculator!
The following will run the self-test mode
Press mode then press alpha then press s then press enter
If you want to get out of the self test press the on button in case you want to attempt to save/transfer apps, programs, variables etc.
The calculator will start to test itself it'll countdown and display numbers on the screen. It can get better sometimes other times a replacement of both the cr1616/cr1620 lithium battery and the 4 AAAA batteries work. Also ensure that you've attempted to clear out all the memory and reset the calculator. To delete all variables, tables, graphs, etc: Press 2nd button then press MEM then press 2 then press 1.
To reset the calculator press 2nd button then press MEM then press 7 then press the left arrow then press 1 then press 2.
