Question about Western Digital 500GB My Book Pro-External 500 GB Hard Drive
My 200Gb HD crashed in my HP/COMPACK computer.
When I try to reinstall windows XP Pro, I can't format the
new hard drive higher than 137gb.
This is a rather technical problem with MS Windows and the 48bit Logical Block Addressing scheme.

Short solution: You have to install Service Pack 1 (or better SP2) in order to get past this problem.
I assume that you had this disk in you computer before, so the BIOS should be able to handle this as well.
