Find the model # and make on the machine (usually on the back, side, or bottom, if not visible on the front) and then get a manual for it online at Fix Ya, or google it.

If you have the manual and are still not sure how to thread it, sometimes the store you bought it from will offer classes on sewing.  I have learned a lot this way!  Otherwise, ask a friend to show you how they thread theirs.  Or you can google your make and model # and see if you can find some online manual or diagrams.

    Good luck!

How to thread Consew Industrial Sewing Machine 206RB

Every machine is a little different, but the basics are the same. Our 7th grade Home Eco. teacher taught us the first day...
"...Start at the thread spool, thread guide, thread guide, tension, take up lever, thread guide, thread guide, needle. Learn this and you can thread any sewing machine"

she was right, As this hold true for my kenmore, juki, singer and new home machines. Same basics for industrial machines too.

Hope this helps.

I'd like to access the instructional manual on how to operate the Baby Lock 5380E. Specifically, need to learn how to thread it.

try this link
http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/Babylock_Manuals/5380-ED_Instruction_Manual.htm

you can purchase many manuals from Sewusa.com and they also have threading diagrams for many makes and models too.

Its always best to have the specific manual for your machine as every make and model is a little different.

Saying that, once you've learned to thread three or four different machines, you can usually figure out a new one as they all have similar functionality, a take up lever, tension device on the top thread, and a bobbin in tension from the bottom. If you visit www.sewing.about.com there is a lot of general sewing machine information there too which may get you started.

Having problem with threading the lower looper. My machine does not have the switch for the auto threading! the diagram did not help. can get through step 7 and then the problem starts.

Are you using tweezers or wire thread loops? you need these tools to thread up a overlocker.

try this video on you-tube, it should help a bit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5hBU5I_3b0

Overlockers/sergers are completely different to a sewing machine and taking a class on your model is invaluable in the initial learning curve of threading up, adjusting tensions and doing different techniques, something so much easier to watch and learn rather than reading the manual.
