The unit was working fine in my truck. I removed it and installed it in my car. Now it does nothing at all. I have the proper power to the proper connections and have verified such at the junction on the back of the cabinet. Any help would be appreciated.
Without knowing what car it is you might want to check to see if you need the harness to have the factory Head unit still hooked in to recieve EMERGENCY Alerts, usually this is on the GM models i am not sure of others. Second check the harness with a test light and also the radio fuse either under the hood or dashboard -=or both in some situations=-

maybe short circuit or similiar problem inside since its geting hot, probably not a problem with the faceplate I would remove the cd player from your car and take it to a professional for a diagnosis / repair estimate. Can't solve this one with text only.
Remove door panel and inspect lock area.Make sure nothing is interfering with lock and door handle rods.Lubricate lock mechanism with light lubricant.if lock still does not work, install new actuator assembly. It will be easier to remove lock assembly to properly install new actuator.Be sure to note connecting rods to lock for proper reassembly. It saves time to mark them with different color paint. It is also a good idea to always perform voltage and current test on any electrical circuit before replacing any components.
Try to check your CPU unit it maybe have a power when you turn it on. Or just check their power suppy at the back when it works. If you check that all and it works normal just check inside your computer and try to see the Power LED (Light Emiting Diode) of the motherboard if have a light. Because if it is have a light your motherboard is good and if it is no light in the Power LED of the motherboard that was damage. But if your motherboard does not have installed Power LED try to check the CPU Fan it maybe works properly it because the CPU Fan was conncected in the motherboard if did not works the motherboard is also damage and need to replace. But if the CPU Fan was working properly, try to hold the CPU Heatsink if it is very hot the damage is your micro processor.
sounds like a bad unit try to return it if not it sounds like you need to properly rewire it and i believe ground it so you can use it because i think it has a safety feature so you cant use it while driving. Try it see what happens
