Question about Kogi l7eh-ta ko 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

2 Answers

My Kogi 17 inch monitor illuminates for 2 seconds and then the light goes out. The monitor is still on but hard to see. Each time you power cycle the monitor, the display appears normal for exactly 2 seconds and then goes off. I tried it with multiple computers and the display behaves the same. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This is known as a failed LCD inverter. If it has a warranty, I would recommend taking it back to where you purchased and request a replacement or get it repaired. Do you know if Kogi is the manufacturer, or is this made by another company, with Kogi as the name? When I find more informationabout Kogi LCD monitors, I'll post a comment to this.

Please let me know what happens and thank you, Binary Bob

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, lets try determining which is at fault.

  • power supply (unlikely) - the unit powers up, even after the display going off, the monitor is till on;
  • LCD screen (possibly) - will have to be determined later;
  • CCF Lamps (backlights) and/or inverter (most likely) - a check; power on the unit, run through the routine, change channels etc. with a flashlight shine obliquely against the screen. If with the use of the flashlight a darker semblance of the desktop could be seen, then you have just confirmed that it is either the CCFL or the inverter and definitely not the LCD screen.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

If you are sure your graphics card is working ok and the VGA cable is firmly plugged into the monitor and card and the power cable is firmly in the monitor, Id suspect the power capacitors in the monitor are blowing or have blown

Kogi 17'' flat screen monitor

there are four(4) buttons on your monitor to the left of the on/off switch.
Press the first one to the left of the off switch, which will bring up a menu, so you can select
bright or volume, screen size, etc; Next, there are two (2) buttons to the left of the first left button
that you can push to adjust brightness, size, vertical, etc;

It looks like your power supply is shutting down (terminal overload shutdown) due to excessive current consumption. You need to get a power supply that meets the voltage and current requirements of that monitor or greater current reuirements.

I need a power supply for my Kogi L7EH-TA monitor

I would not recommend this because my monitor will probably burn up from doing this but; I just lost my power supply last night and I took a power cord from my seagate external 500 GB hard drive which has the same pin size plug in that goes into the monitor and plugged it directly into the wall. I assume that the external hard drive uses the same ac to dc converter although it looks just like a cord with no inverter capabilies. Not sure of the amps though and this could burn up the monitor completely. Works for now.

Sounds like will need component-level electronic troubleshooting, probably in the power supply section.
